Thank you Richard and Peter for the warm welcome!
Peter I have to agree, although I've never met her as you have, just from watching the interviews she has done that are on YouTube, you can tell that Hayley is just the most grounded, down-to-earth person, no pretense at all, genuinely cares for others. I assume that has a lot to do with her upbringing. What a pleasure for you to know her!
I very much enjoyed her Twitter Q&A session with her followers the other day. How many international singing stars would do that? I dare say not many. She really makes the effort to make her fans feel like friends.
Well off to sleep for me. It's 1:00 AM where I live. Haha.
Have a great Monday!

Welcome Matt, Glad to hear someone else raving about Majesty, Hayley's version is just heavenly, to say the least, I keep hoping it will be released as a single, and that at some time in the future it would be even more popular than Amazing Grace worldwide. It's true absence makes the heart grow fonder, I was without my music collection for a while when I moved house years ago, I couldn't figure it out at the time, I just was not happy in the house, then I set my stereo up and realised immediately how important and central music was in my life. I recently put up a decent pair of speakers in my new workshop and the difference it makes to the atmosphere in there is amazing, It makes working in there so much more a pleasure. and the first album I played in it was Odyssey

Hi Matt and a warm welcome to the forum from Central England. You will find us a very friendly group of people who support Hayley to the hilt. Plenty of information about her here too so if you need a hand finding your way around, just ask and someone will guide you along.
By the way, I am also a huge fan of Majesty.
Best wishes Grant

Welcome Matt,
Majesty, oh yes, I have always loved it. A pity it was not released worldwide.
Hope you get to hear Hayley live and meet her one day. If you like her records, her live performance will blow you away. This girl is a real musician, nothing false about her performances.

Wow! Thank you all for the greetings! It's great to know there are so many others out there who love 'Majesty' as much as I do. I'm so thankful that through the magic of eBay I was able to order it, as it was not available here in the States. I agree Martin, it's too bad it wasn't released internationally. On another note, I have always been pretty religious about not listening to Christmas themed music until after our Thanksgiving holiday, but Hayley's 'Winter Magic' album is making me break my rule. I suspect I am not alone in that sentiment. Best regards, Matt

Hi Matt,
If you ever get the chance to attend one of Hayley's wonderful Christmas concerts, be there. Break the bank if necessary. There won't be any this year and I already have withdrawal symptoms. Christmas won't be Christmas.
Last December she did four, and I was in the front row of the Birmingham Symphony Hall, acknowledged as one of the world's finest concert halls. And Hayley was wonderful. She received two standing ovations, one for O Holy Night. She has never recorded it, but nobody sings that carol like Hayley. It is mindblowing.
She looks up into heaven, and on one occasion her face seemed to shine...

Thanks Joe! Looking forward to joining in the conversations. Martin: Front row for the Christmas concert? Wow, what an experience to have! I've heard her perform 'O Holy Night' on a YouTube video. The sound quality wasn't that great, but it was still amazing. I can only imagine how glorious it would be in person. I would imagine she stays close to home around the holidays, so her Christmas shows are probably all around the UK or New Zealand. Maybe I'll have to make a special trip someday. I've never been to either place. I'm sure they are both great places around the holidays.

Hi Matt, A few of our American members have made trips to the UK or Ireland for Hayley concerts in the past. They often pick a time when she is doing a major tour, so that they can stay for a few days and take in several concerts. The O Holy Night YouTube video might have been mine, which was from the Bath Forum year before last. My camera is not the best sound recording device in the world though!! But there are several Hayley vids on my YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/results?search_query=MartinDn1001&aq=fDidn't get any vids from Birmingham though, I was too close to the stage and looking up at Hayley a few feet away. It was a great experience, but too close and the wrong angle for photography. Martin D

Hi Martin, Yes yes it WAS your video I saw! In fact, now that I've visited your channel (thanks for posting that link by the way), I can see that I've actually watched quite a few of your videos. Great job! I don't think there is a hand-held recording device of any kind that could possibly do Hayley's voice justice, but your video work is great! So did anyone ever find out who the guy was that looked like he had his finger up his nose on your other video of 'Peace Shall Come'? I couldn't believe that guy, first that he could sit like that while Hayley was singing. Second, that he stayed in that same position throughout the entire song. Haha.

Hi Matt,
Yes, there have been comments about that guy before. I wonder if he knows that that particular pose is now world famous? Bet he's embarrassed!
The latest batch of vids are from the Kings Lynn concert 3 weeks ago. That was another very special show. In fact all Hayley's shows are special. Hope you get to see her live one day.

Hello All from Gordie, West Coast Canada Until recently, I have only been listening to a few classical artists and only when they perform in the Classical Crossover genre, The Three Tenors and Andrea Bocelli and any artists that performed with them such as Sarah Brightman, Otherwise, I was quite happy with reggae, ska, calypso and the like. Then I stumbled upon Jackie Evancho and felt like a fish properly hooked and reeled in. The neat thing about it is that many new doors opened for me including this door to Haley Westenra. I had once said in another Chatroom not to long ago that Jackie is like Haley's Comet in that someone like her only comes around once in every 75 years. As I let myself be seduced by other artists of Classical Crossover genre I realized that the same description could be easily applied to other artist. Haley is just such an artist to be liken to her namesake comet. To me Haley is every bit as unique. Although Haley has been flying for a decade, her comet still climbs high. No doubt that a rousing rugby tourney will give her journey a huge boost. We in Canada won't mind as long as she doesn't forget that we are also part of the Commonwealth.
