Hi everyone and thanks for all the warm welcomes. So many questions to answer....Yes i did stay after each show to meet Hayley, Ian and Fiona. They were all so happy and friendly. I saw Hayley last year in the NCH in Dublin and was very lucky to get to meet her after the concert. God, i cant really remember when or how i first heard of Hayley. I think it was just before the release of Odyssey. Yeah have my tickets for NCH again in Sept however the concert in Limerick the next day hasn't gone on sale yet! As for what picture i am in....its in the belfast subject in Hayley in concert and i am the guy in the black shirt in post #296. Hope that helps!!! Seamus

Hello from San Diego! I first heard Hayley's CD "Pure" in 2005 and was hooked.
Odyssey was a wonderful birthday present from a dear friend in 2006. One of my favorite Hayley songs is "Never Saw Blue".
About the same time I was discovering Hayley's music, I had attended a Celtic Woman concert in Spring of 2006, and had become a fan of theirs as well.
When the news came that Hayley would be recording "A New Journey" with Celtic Woman, I was really really happy!
I got to see Hayley live with Celtic Woman twice in the Spring of 2007, once in San Diego, and once in Oakland, and she was amazing. I remain a huge Celtic Woman fan, and was sad to see her go, but I also knew that she had an exciting future ahead of her.
Her Celtic Treasure CD is another wonderful work of art. One thing I really love about Hayley is her willingness to branch out and try some songs (and they always sound awesome!) in a different genre, and also continue to sing the classical songs beautifully.
So, that's how I discovered Hayley's music. I also have her concert DVD which is outstanding. I hope someday to see her live in concert as a soloist.
Thanks for reading. I look forward to chatting and catching up on Hayley news with you.
Cheers!
~willow

Hi Willow and welcome to the forum from Central England. Thank you for telling us how you discovered Hayley. I also discovered her through hearing tracks from "Pure" on the radio but it took ages to catch the name behind the voice! I see your favourite Hayley song is "Never Saw Blue" so you will no doubt here from member Mark very soon as it is his favourite too. I love so many of her songs, a favourite doesn't come to mind. As you already have Hayley's three international albums, are you aware of her early albums or the special Japanese releases? There's some exquisite material of Hayley's out there! Anyway, hope you enjoy the forum, we are all dedicated to Hayley and it is often said that we know what Hayley is doing before Hayley does! If you think I'm joking, ask her! I look forward to your future posts. Best wishes Grant

Hi Willow Welcome to the forum. Oh yes, as Grant says, my favourite Hayley song is also 'Never Saw Blue' I actually got Odyssey just before I went to my first Hayley concert and that song was instantly a hit with me. However, what really cemented it as an all time favourite was when Hayley performed the song live at my second Concert. It was a very intimate affair, the small audience were all seated around candlelit tables, having just finished a lovely dinner and my table was right in front of the low stage - just a few feet from Hayley when she came on to sing. The combination of the intimate atmosphere, being so close to Hayley, the thought provoking lyrics and beautiful melody of that song - wow - thats a memory that I hope I will never forget Here are a couple of photo's of Hayley singing 'Never Saw Blue' at that event, taken from where I was sitting, before I had my digital camera - so the images are scanned, still it gives you some idea. Hope you enjoy being a member of the forum - there is no better place and everything you ever wanted to know about Hayley is right here somewhere. Looking forward to your future posts. Best regards from the UK Mark

Hi from Mumbai (didn't mean to rhyme, honest) I've been a fan of Hayley for a short while compared to all of you- I was introduced to her last Novemebr in Tokyo Japan, I was there with my work and we went to see her. I thought she was great, it was quite suprising actually as I was not really interested in classical music until i heard hayley. Its unfortunate that she's not well known in India yet, i'll be in the UK from August 16th- September 12th, so hopefully there may be a chance to see her (i don't know the dates).
Well anyway thats probably far too much about me- hope to learn lots more about hayley and all of you
Akhay- or akki depending on your mood

Hi Akki and welcome to the forum from Central England. So you were introduced to Hayley by seeing her in Concert in Japan! We would love to hear more about your experience at the concert. There are a few concerts publicised so far for when you are going to be in the UK. Lincoln Castle is an open air concert and there's also the Killiow Festival near Truro in Cornwall which is on for 5 days in early September. You can keep up to date with Hayley's schedule HERE then go to the appropriate concert thread for details. If you need guidance to find your way around this site, just ask and someone will help you. There's tons of info about Hayley here and we a friendly bunch so enjoy your time with us and I look forward to your future posts. Best wishes Grant

I joined this group a few months ago and decided that it's time I posted in this thread. First I would like to say that this is a great group of Hayley fans and I very much enjoy reading what you all have to say. It takes some very dedicated fans to retrieve all the information available on HWI I discovered Hayley Westenra in April of 2007. I was searching for Phantom of the Opera (PTO) music on myspace and ran across a PTO fan who had Dark Waltz on their profile. I'm a little embarrassed to say that the first time I heard that song, I cried because it was so beautiful. well, that was the beginning of my Hayley obsession. before that I was a huge fan of Jpop, which is why Hayley's newest Japanese album is my favorite so far I took two years of Japanese and was completely in love with their culture. A little of my music history: I've played violin and guitar since gradeschool, sung in choir even longer, have a grandpa with perfect pitch who owns a music store, an uncle who works at EMI Records and would love to sing a duet with Hayley someday ...... I'm hopeful.....
