Hi Lothar,
Yes, 8th May is confirmed but tickets are not yet on sale either online or at the Box Office. It is quite usual for them to go on sale towards the end of February or early March.

Hi all,
I wonder if BBC America will air this. The BAFTA Awards were on last weekend and it did well in the ratings.

I am up for this one too, as soon as the tickets go on sale I will see whats available on line, last year we had a great evening with All Angels performing, perhaps they will be there again this year? Richard can you chose your seat if you go to the booking office? That way we might be able to get front row seats! Steve H

Hi Dori, In previous years, the CBAs have always been broadcast on UK television. It is usually about three days later but I seem to recall last year's may have been slightly later than that. I can't remember exactly when the nominations are announced. I think it is about two months prior to the event. All categories (there are about 8 of them) are listed in Classic FM magazine and then the public have a few weeks to vote for the Album of the Year award. I know many of our UK members will be following developments very closely so I am sure everything will be reported here. Early indications are that the Royal Albert Hall will be invaded by many of us on 8th May! I look forward to seeing you there one day year! Roger

Do they broadcast it on television in the UK? Dori Hi Dori Yes, but it is heavily edited. Last year All Angels performed two songs but only one was shown on TV. They have to get those adverts in! Tony

Steve H Hi Steve The problem is that the arena area in front of the stage is occupied by the orchestra and dining tables for nominees and VIP guests. The nearest seats to the stage we can book will be in the stalls. Last year a large portion of these were reserved for members and family of The Fron Male choir. Tony

Hayley's 'Treasure' is one of the nominations for the NS& I Album of the Year, the only Classical Brit award that is the result of a vote. We can vote from 6th March at.....www.classicalbrits.co.uk Other nominations include, Alfie Boe, All Angels, and Blake, ( a difficult choice for some ), there are ten nominations in all. The full details are in the April ( yes I know we are not in March yet ! ) edition of Classic fm. Looks like we will have to 'muster the troops' Roger ? Graham

Thanks very much Graham for posting that information! It reminded me that I forgot to post my classical sales estimates for 2007 (from which you can guess the Classical brits nominations) so i've now done that in the Charts board ( 2007 charts thread). Here are my guesstimates - probably the top 10 but I put Natasha Marsh in in case Alfie Boe isn't allowed two nominations! Can you confirm or correct the nominations, the nominations list is usually listed in the mag in order of 2007 sales. Thanks! 1 Voices of the Valley - Encore - Fron Male Voice Choir 2 Spirit of the Glen - Royal Scots Dragoon Guards 3 Blake - Blake 4 Treasure - Hayley Westenra 5 Into Paradise - All Angels 6 The Carols Album - The Choirboys 7 Cortes - Gardar Thor Cortes 8 Onward - Alfie Boe 9 Divenire - Ludovici Einaudi 10 La Passione - Alfie Boe (11 Amour - Natasha Marsh) Only guesstimates - not official. Cheers, Dave
