Hi guys!
Lovely photos! And the stage looked SPECTACULAR! I can't wait for someone to record it or something. I still wonder if they will show it here, in New Zealand?

Hi all, Many thanks to everyone who has posted such wonderful pictures and reports on what was such a memorable evening! Really sorry that Hayley didn't win as I believe she deserved to , but I'm still very glad that I was ultimately able to attend the event even if I did arrive later than the rest of you, particularly since this was my first time seeing the Royal Albert Hall, and a spectacular venue it is. Congratulations to Blake for winning Album of the year, and also to Nicola Benedetti for being named performer of the year. Wish I could've stayed on a bit longer at the hall after the event but had to rush to Euston Station to catch a sleeper train back to Edinburgh leaving just before midnight. Hayley was fantastic both with her performance on stage and afterwards even though she had missed out on the award. For what it's worth Hayley, you truly did yourself proud by being nominated, & you will always be a winner to every one of us. Best wishes all David

Hi Steve, Already, you have provided us with some of the best pictures we have ever seen and I know there are many more to come. I get the feeling I will have to buy another photo frame before long! Only this evening, I realised that something slightly unusual happened last night. This was my fourth Classical Brits but it was the first time that all seven award winners were present. In previous years (2005, 2006 and 2007), at least one of them was overseas and we watched the presentation on the video screens. Maybe they made an extra effort this year because they knew so many of us were coming! Roger

Thank you Roger glad you like them so far, here are the last for tonight, for those not lucky enough to be there I had probably the best spot possible without being part of the press group.Steve H [/size]

I haven't yet decided whether to post it in this thread (where it will get lost among the photos at the moment), in an existing thread elsewhere or in a new one. Suffice it to say for the moment that I pointed out what you have just mentioned to a few others in our group during the interval and i confidently predicted that every other winner would be present too... so watch this (or a nearby) space! Cheers, Dave

I'm delighted everyone had a blast at the Classical BRITs and I rejoice at this extended coverage of Hayley's part.
However.....
She didn't win, and that makes it bittersweet for me. Of course she should've won — if merit were the main consideration — but who has the time and energy to go up against Blake's groupies who almost certainly went "overboard" (if you get my drift) to ensure their victory? I've listened to Blake and I don't understand what the fuss is about.... it all seems very exaggerated. Pity we're stuck with this type of selection process.

I have a question...I have just read and looked at all the pages on the Brits. Great photos and memories shared!! But post 498 ( I think) says that one of the members knew the results of the Album award several days before yesterday, and hinted that the votes werent' actually counted or something??? So I just wondered what that was all about.......

So I just wondered what that was all about....... Hi Stephanie, You are very observant and yes, some of us have had concerns about the Classical Brits 'album of the year' voting systems for quite some time now. However, it must be stressed that we have no direct 'evidence' of foul play (and anyone who thinks they have should first contact one of the Management team for discussion before publishing) so we must be careful what we say. Not least because, right or wrong, others could accuse us or even worse Hayley, of "sour grapes". We already have a separate thread called "Classical Brits voting - is it fair" and I think the best place to continue any further discussion of this is there; we may let it widen a bit to discuss other awards at the Classical Brits too. Everyone, please continue any further discussion about the fairness of Classical Brits voting (for any award) in the thread mentioned above, thanks. Cheers, Dave
