After some digging I've tracked down Lucy's first appearance on TV at the Big Sing at the RAH in 2006. She must have been about 17 at the time and had red hair in those days ! (She's the one furthest to the left after 50 seconds).

I was hoping that email arrived a day late but what started out as a very bad day with Lucy telling me on Twitter she was "heartbroken" (we both were !) over her album ended with one of the best value concerts I have ever been to with 4 of the best young singers and all for a ridiculously low price of £15 !! St James Theatre is particularly handy for me as it's only a short walk round the corner from Victoria Coach Station. I'd been here before to see Camilla just after it opened 3 years ago. The Studio is an intimate venue for 120 people and as I came in I noticed 3 seats on the side by a door. A member of staff told me they were for the singers so I pulled up a chair and spent the evening sat about 4 feet away from the performers ! Towards the end, as Charlotte walked off stage the breeze from her gown wafted 2 sheets of paper off a table and onto the floor. It was the setlist so naturally I thought it best to look after them ! I got all 4 of them to sign it for me ! Lucy used the same Sharpie I'd given her in February ! Songs were sung by Charlotte unless otherwise stated : When you smile. Pie Jesu. When somebody loved me. Habanera. Lucy took to the stage with her typically self-deprecating humour. "I'll try not to break me neck !" she quipped as she clambered up the step to the stage in her Louboutin heels. She later took them off altogether. Must be hard to walk in. I always look for that in a shoe ! Actually the stage was only about a foot or so higher than the floor. Feels like home. Jai MacDowall. I'm not afraid of anything. Anthem. Jai. Canto Della Terra. The highlight for me was this duet with Lucy and Charlotte. A Scottish guy at the back was videoing the whole show so I'll watch out for this on Youtube. Do you want to build a snowman ? Charlotte explained when her 2 younger sisters heard about the show they wanted to be involved and so this was a rather enchanting trio of Jaconellis ! Caruso. Jonathan. Then came the interval and although Charlotte said she was "rubbish" at talking (she wasn't) I did like her joke about us having a drink and then the performers would look more and more lovely as the evening wore on ! Somewhere over the rainbow. Caro mio ben Les Mis medley. Another highlight for me as we heard Lucy's non-operatic voice with the other three. It has a husky quality which I find very appealing. (No Richard, I don't mean she sounded like a dog !!) Right here waiting for you. O mio babino caro. Lucy (minus shoes) admitted everyone sang this but I found the arrangement for guitar very interesting ! She dedicated it to her grandfather. Nessun Dorma. Jonathan was going to sing this on his own but Lucy complained he'd stolen her party-piece so they sang it as a duet and it worked brilliantly. Laschia chio pianga. To where you are. The prayer. (I do hope this is on Youtube. Charlotte sang it brilliantly). Wishing you were somehow here again. Time to say goodbye. A fitting end from the whole quartet. For me the surprise of the evening was Jai MacDowall. I'd never really noticed him that much but he's a fine singer. After all, he was the only one of the four who actually won BGT (sorry Richard, I'll try not to mention Cowell). Not only that but far from being a dour Scot he's a very personable chap to talk to. When you meet him he's only too happy to spend time with you, offering anecdotes of his time growing up in Scotland, e.g. When Jai started school in Glasgow the teacher asked him "Do you have any weapons?" "No" Jai replied. The teacher said "Well you'll need them!!" We spent so long laughing and joking I never got time to discuss the election north of the border which is probably just as well ! He signed my setlist "Lots of love, Jai" so maybe I've been watching the wrong Scot all this time !!! He'll be doing an audition for Jesus Christ Superstar today so watch out for that in future. What I like about the venue it's so relaxed and we had almost an hour to chat to the stars so of course I met Lucy. I got a hug (all her biggest fans get a hug !) and a photo which Alan will email to me soon. He took around 70 photos of the show which he'll put up on his Facebook page but unlike me he has to work for a living so it could be the weekend before we see them. I offered to buy Lucy a drink but they didn't sell Guinness at the bar ! A black mark for them. (Although the tickets were cheap the price of their coffee more than made up for it!). Lucy sat next to me so I minded her drink while she signed and posed for photos. Inbetween we chatted about a lot of things like money (which I can't go into), the fact the show had little rehearsal time and her plans which include a tour with Rydian. Details to be announced next week so watch this space. I'm sure a lot more from this great show will come out on social media in the days ahead.

Thanks Jeff for the detailed report. It almost makes me feel as if I were there. Oh, wait a minute... Whereas you found a privileged seat at the back, I had to make do with one at the front corner of the stage with a great view of both the performance and of Charlotte's family who seemed to fill the remainder of the front two rows. I also had the opportunity to trip up the performers as they came up at the other side of the stage (but managed to restrain myself). I posted the best of my photos from the evening on my facebook page here www.facebook.com/john.harvey.10485546/media_set?set=a.10155643841740121.1073742039.806075120&type=1Although I have seen Jonathan, Charlotte and Lucy performing a number of times before, this was the first time I really spoke to any of them. They all come across as lovely people - likewise Jai who I was seeing for the first time. Good to meet you again Jeff, and thank you for fumbling the camera so that I got to hold on close to Lucy for a little longer

Another old friend was involved too. Guitarist A J Moore was a member of Hayley's backing band for several years. Martin D

The trouble with standing next to a woman this beautiful is that one always feels inferior in comparison ! Lucy is wearing her shoes for that photo ! I'd forgotten how tiny the wee lady is ! It's amazing how such a big voice comes out of such a little body but then they do say good things come in small packages !

Yes Jim, both Cantamus songs were recorded the same evening. I was there The show was broadcast as two Songs of Praise programmes, also including Hayley, Katherine Jenkins and G4. So Lucy has also shared a stage with Jonathan Ansell before.

The trailer did not make that clear and I was expecting Hayley in the 1st. I was a bit disappointed until I heard BOTW which I thought the highlight of that show. Even though I preferred Fix You to BOTW Hayley, for me was the highlight of the second show.
