Hi Libby Wow...great job on this! That photo was taken at the National Association of Recording Merchandisers' convention at San Diego's Marriott Hotel on August 22, 2004. I think this piece will really boost Paradiso online sales i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Yipppeeeee!

It was 178 stations in all! There are a lot in some states; there were 7 in Alaska! There are also several in WA state, but only one in western Washington (Mt. Vernon), which is the most populous part of the state. Mt. Vernon is north of Seattle, maybe about halfway from Seattle to Canada. Pullman is the on the eastern-most edge of WA, almost to C'ouer D'Alene, Idaho. It's home of one of the biggest colleges in the state, one of the 2 main college rivals. Moses Lake is Central WA, Omak is North Central, and Walla Walla (famous for onions!) is in the southeastern region. I wonder why Seattle doesn't have it, but most other major cities in the US did. By not having any, I mean stations that air the Here & Now shows. Seattle has several NPR stations, but none have that program. I knew that photo had to be before the Il Divo tour. I thought she looked too much like she did in her DVD to be much later than that!

2 in Orlando, 2 in Las Vegas, and 3 in Nashville! I think the most for one state I saw was Ohio. It's too hard to count, though. The Kent State, Ohio station I mentioned above, which said they played Whispers in a Dream at some point in time? Yep, it was on that radio station too. I wonder if any of the other 177 stations might play her songs, too? Or have already?!

I don't remember if she ever retweeted anything of mine. Oh, yes, I think maybe she did, but I can't think of what it was. I've been keeping all of the notifications of Hayley's replies to me in my inbox, but I lost some of them when my computer had problems last week. Hi Libby, Sorry to hear you lost data. May I suggest, if you have USB ports on your computer, To get an external hard drive and copy any files of value to the external disc. External drives are available for under a $100 these days. From experience, computers will fail, it is only a question of when. I have 3 dead ones here in the house, I will have to take the hard drives out of them at some time and retrieve files that don't exist anywhere else. It is on my "To do" list.. since Shepherd's Bush.. Maybe tomorrow. The On Topic bit: Great news, So many Radio Stations, To some people, radio is their lifeline, their only connection with the rest of the world.

Hi -
Another thought with reference to smart planning behind the "Here & Now" promotion. It was made on a national holiday (Columbus Day) when the listening audience was likely to be larger. Smart!

I noticed on the Here & Now show that when Hayley spoke her Kiwi/London accent was in full force, which set it off considerably from her clear, unaccented singing. It was hard to believe the singer and the talker were one and the same, so far apart they seemed!

Hi Steve -
Yes, i have been struck by that, too. Also, in addition to the Kiwi accent is the speed of speaking which she often achieves. I can remember, way back, someone writing that she speaks with the rapidity of a woodpecker working on its favorite tree. How descriptive!

Hi Bob -- I think it was also due to the fact that her interviewer was American so the contrast in accents was more apparent than in the majority of her media appearances.

Speaking of jackpots, one of the 6 cities in Nevada is called Jackpot!! Ironic... The state with the most stations with the show is Ohio, with 16! Oregon is in 2nd place with 13! Great for the Pacific Northwest! But only 5 in WA state. Hayley might get a lot of new fans from Ohio and Oregon, and even a few from Alaska, since there were 7 stations there. States missing from the list were Delaware, Hawaii, Iowa, Maine, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Dakota, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, and West Virginia. It's too bad, then the CD might be #1 at Amazon! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Another Jackpot is that Hayley's other albums are getting a lift on Amazon as well. For example, Pure is back on the Amazon classical chart at #18 after a long hiatus. Chances are that anyone who buys Paradiso on the strength on this radio show is going to be curious about her earlier work, too.

Yes! And on UK Amazon back when Paradiso was first released there, River of Dreams and Treasure were up a ways, too! I think RoD was #8 at one point.
