Latest information is that it's still not confirmed. The original idea was just that - an idea. But a number of interested parties have taken it up and are proposing things. Main question is who will pay for a party. My broadcaster friend says they will definitely run with it if it happens. Don't expect firm plans any time soon.

Now, I'm guessing the wedding will be televised, but might the "party" be, as well? And do you think U.S. media would cover any of this? I'm sure it's not as important to us, but if Hayley's there, it's very important to me! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hi All,
Back from my hols, trying to catch up with what has been happening. Nice for Sue and I to know that the wedding will be on our wedding anniversary - 29th April. We lasted more than 7 years (as suggested by that horrible man who somehow has managed to become Bishop of Willesden), 32 years plus at present and still going strong, so there is a good precedent. And having a bank holiday declared for our wedding anniversary is a nice present from the government, or would be if I would otherwise have had to work it.
Blake may have a connection to William and Kate, but so does Hayley - she is William's cousin (8th cousin I think). So far the arrangements seem to have been handled with a wonderful sureness of touch that taps into the people's hopes and expectations. I will be very disappointed now if Hayley isn't involved. She is absolutely right for it.

If there is a concert, it'll most likely be a POP concert, or mixed genre at best, so I wouldn't hold out huge hopes for that, everyone. The good news is, every artist will want to be in on it, so it's certain to be televised around the world. A mixed genre concert with Hayley would certainly be best for her, though, however incongruous it might seem, as a lot of people will get to hear her who might not otherwise listen... As to who PAYS for the concert - the TV companies wanting to televise it all round the world, of course!

I think it's like likely Brian Lane will get her at the concert, quite easily. It won't be an exclusively pop concert - when royalty is involved so it classical music. It will include a wide variety of acts like the Memorial Concert for Diana which has everyone from Sarah Brightman to P. Diddy/Puff Daddy/Sean Combs/whatever his name is these days.

Hi Nicola, Hopefully - even in this short time it's been noticeable that Brian Lane is making things happen. Getting Hayley a position on the televised Children in Need Concert was something that comes to mind. Cheers, Jillian

Yes, I agree Jillian, and Children in Need was a POP CONCERT, presented in a pop way. Hayley was more than equal to it, performing two pop songs and a local anthem so beautifully that she silenced the noisy crowd (until she had finished, when they cheered wildly). And I think she looked the part too!
As I said before, she just has to be there.

Hi Martind, I agree - and it's nice to know that Bandana Mangagement seem to be pushing that Hayley has every capability to be included in concerts of all genres. Cheers, Jillian

To be fair though, Hayley's been in several events of this type over the years, including Children in Need in 2004 and last year that I can remember (and my memory certainly ain't one of the best! ) Cheers, Dave

So do I, Libby! A lot is going to depend on how 'modern' William & Kate want to come across as to the onlookers, if William has truly taken charge. Nothing says 'old fashioned' to a young audience like Classical music...

Depends on how classical it is. Like Handel is very classical, but some of Hayley's songs aren't really "classical" at all, like Songbird. But I'm kind of hoping for a new and different song.

Same. I am hugely intrigued by this collaboration with Ennio Morricone...

On the news recently, they said that the Obamas would not be at the royal wedding (boo-hoo), because the guests were to be family, friends, and people involved in their charity organizations, or something along those lines. What with all the charities Hayley is involved in, particularly the RBL and UNICEF, this seems to place the odds in Hayley's favor even more! And then, this entire year has seen Hayley attend events where one or more members of the royal family are present: Prince Williams' barbecue in NZ, Friends of Forces awards with Prince Harry, the Festival of Remembrance with the Queen in attendance, and then the recent ceremony for the 4th Mechanized Brigade, with Prince Charles. One question: How were Hayley and Sophie able to attend the barbecue- did Prince William invite her? And if so, was that simply because she's a prominent celebrity in New Zealand, or because PW likes her, or both? Whoops, that was 2 questions! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

I understand that a public concert in relation to the Royal Wedding is looking more likely, in that 'a promoter' now claims to be organising one and has a sponsor ready to pay for it. It remains to be seen of course whether this would be in Hyde Park as previously mentioned, and who might be appearing.
