Thanks for that, Karsten! Here's the enlarged image of the cover: I'm wondering if Hayley is reading a couple of poems rather than singing. A few weeks ago she tweeted that she was recording some non-musical vocals at Abbey Road. The album can also be pre-ordered at HMV.com and Amazon.co.uk. There is a video at Amazon.co.uk which includes a brief interview with Hayley. Edit: I've now noticed that HMV lists this CD as a spoken word album. Richard

Hayley tweeted about the recording on 27th July 2010 HERE. Her interview with Amazon was almost certainly recorded on the same day as the video with Karl Jenkins, because she was wearing the same top, earrings and hairstyle. Richard

Maybe it'sjust me but I happen to think Hayley's formal speaking/reading voice is as good as her singing voice. I know I would totally enjoy hearing her perform this sort of vocal work!

Hello Steve! I agree with you, so I'll definitely buy this album. Meanwhile I'm looking out for any audio clips. Richard

Hello Richard and everyone
Would have bought myself a copy of this album today but ASDA are asking £9.97 for it so I'll have a look at HMV in town tomorrow.
Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant,
There is a charity donation element to this which might explain the price (I think Reach for the Skies, which I have now bought, was about the same price with £2 supporting the charity).
Realising that, I don't begrudge it. And I like to encourage the likes of ASDA to stock items like this.

I trust that this CD will become a popular item as we approach Remembrance Sunday on 14 November.
One doesn't mind paying a little extra if it is going towards charity; in this case the Royal British Legion.
Best wishes
Joe

Hi Martin and Joe I think you're both missing the point The charity donation is the same whoever sells it - inflated prices only line the supermarket's pockets - they get enough out of me as it is!! Best wishes Grant

Hayley's voice when she speaks is as gentle and soothing as when she sings . Interestingly, Hayley's is the only non-British voice on the album. John

Hello everyone
Have just finished listening to my copy of this remarkable and very different album - a beautiful and very moving tribute to the many thousands who gave their lives during the conflicts of the Twentieth Century and those who continue to do so today.
The album comprises 33 tracks and is divided into three main sections representing the two great wars and current conflicts separated by musical interludes. A detailed booklet with words is included.
Personally, I would have liked a little more female participation - only 6 of the 33 segments are spoken by females, although that doesn't detract from the overall significance of this album, just my personal view.
I still marvel at the amazing quality and purity of Hayley's formal speaking voice on this album and can foresee many buying this album who may not be familiar with Hayley because of her singing voice wanting to know more about her because of it!
Ultimately this is a 'must have' album, not just because of Hayley's participation but because, whatever else we do in life "We Must Remember Them".
Best wishes Grant
