A run-down of the chart so far is available here: halloffame.classicfm.com/2024/You will notice "Quanta Qualia" is no.250 but again they didn't play Hayley's version. Thank you Jeff. They have listed half of the chart at this time….some quite contemporary soundtracks in there amongst the true classics! I’ve written some down to give some of my favorites a listen. I expect we shall hear Hayley nearer to the top 50!

Yes Joe the final day of four of the Hall of Fame has just been broadcast and I loved all 48 hours of it ! Near the top of the chart were some works which became crossover songs so I've added some videos.
At No.12 was Gabriel's Oboe or as we know it "Whispers in a dream."
At No.10 was the theme from Schindler's List which was made into a song for Natasha Marsh:
At No.5 we had Elgar's "Nimrod" which All Angels sang as "Sancte Deus":
At No.4 we had Karl Jenkins "Benedictus."
At No.1 was Rachmaninov's 2nd Piano Concerto. This was poignant for two reasons. Firstly today would have been the composer's birthday. Secondly we know it as "All by myself" sung by Eric Carmen who sadly passed recently. I remember buying his single when it was a hit in the UK in 1976. I was going to post his video but then I know Joe you are a big fan of Lucy Thomas (she is impressive) and she recorded the song too in what is truly a show stopping performance.
Not to be outdone tenor Tony Henry recorded the song in Italian as "Da solo no." I have his album "Modern Arias" which divided the critics. Some thought it overblown but it's a song that singers like to belt out.

Thanks Jeff for your coverage on this! Although Hayley hadn’t placed on the countdown, it gave us a chance to perhaps give a listen to an old favorite. I’ve written some songs down to listen to.
Honestly I’ve not even opened Lucy Thomas’s newest CD yet. I got caught up in some late Christmas and Candlemas projects (I compiled for myself a Christmas Carol lyrics binder of fifty non-contemporary carols). And for Lent I comprised a Stations of the Cross binder, so with Easter done, I promised myself to listen to Lucy’s CD and indeed several new songs from her as well.

As we note the sad passing of Mike Pinder, founding member of the Moody Blues, I am listening to one of their best creations but since this site is dedicated to classical crossover music, I thought I'd post this cover version.

I favoured the Moody Blues over the Beatles and the Stones any day. Their albums were for a full play as a single sitting, like a fine three course meal with good wine and good friends. They have been my constant companions since my teens.

Don't worry about that Jeff if you want to post an original, with flute and woodwind (well the London Festival Orchestra) on it throughout, it's classical/prog rock so not too far away!
