Could the Japanese lyrics be for a new HSJS release, or just for the Japanese release of the new album? I hope it's the first one, because I'd like to buy as few versions of the album as I can manage.

(You'll need to watch ITV to understand that one !!)

That's an intriguing one Best wishes Grant Could the Japanese lyrics be for a new HSJS release, or just for the Japanese release of the new album? I hope it's the first one, because I'd like to buy as few versions of the album as I can manage. Only Universal Record knows the answer but I think it is for the Japanese release of the new album. In the past her Japanese editions were a bit expensive but those always had some extra tracks and most of those were precious to us. The imported versions were cheaper but those did not attract us enough. Judging from the way which Universal Record did, the new album would be the same as before, I assume. So her expression “Going over some Japanese lyrics” may be related to some extra tracks sung in Japanese for Japanese market. Things are expensive here and Universal Records needs some extra money for the promotions and they need to set the price higher to continue their business here. Those who want to buy a Japanese edition must pay some extra money for the CD itself plus shipping and tax. I feel sorry for them. Best wishes. Maya

Well, if I remember correctly, Nada Sousou first appeared on the Japan version of Treasure, but then eventually was on the first HSJS. So, maybe the same thing will happen with the new Japanese tracks. That would be nice, but knowing how record companies are, that's somewhat doubtful. Maya, do you think there will be any more HSJS albums in the future?

Maya, do you think there will be any more HSJS albums in the future? Hi Libby. This is just my opinion but I don't think there would be HSJS albums in the very near future. Below are the reasons why I think so. But I hope you don't blame me since these are the facts here in Japan. 1, HSJS2 was not sold well compared with HSJS. 2, Hayley's concert tickets were not sold out at most of the cities in 2009. 3, Hayley does not have any plan to come to Japan this year. 4, There was no her TV appearance at all this year. 5, I seldom hear her voice over the radio these days. 6, Winter Magic Japanese edition was not a big success. I must say her popularity here is dropping. Most of the record companies in Japan are now under the control of big American capitals and they tend to invest money to those who earn big money only and the competition is tougher. It seems to me that Universal Record Japan is not considering Hayley as a big money maker as she used to be and does not promote her more. She or her management team puts the emphasis on UK dedicating RAF and others and this makes her busier inside of UK reducing her activity outside. With these situations, her popularity in her home land NZ is also dropping, I hear. The more she works in UK, the more she looses her popularity outside, I worry. Best wishes. Maya

maya's comments are interesting... a bit cynical but thats the nature of modern commerce [and not a criticism of her, the messenger]. i concur that continally being in england might harm hayleys global popularity [double edged sword: she has opportunities to perform but only english get to see her]. question: why dont her people at least send her around europe for awhile it certainly wont enhance her visibility to american audiences, or even the rest of the world.
the japanese issue to me is the same as any problem she may have with popularity here.. its the proximity of her, or not. there would seem to be little point in promoting a singer who will never make a public appearance.
the problem is reversed in england, though because english dont have a chance to miss her. skipping one concert makes no difference if theres one down the road. i waited 2 years and travelled 600km to see her. its more precious for me. i sometimes worry english will get tired of her and the rest of the world will discover someone else who does visit them. real fans are great but its probably browsers that pay the bills.
libby, i agree... re the number of albums one feels a need to buy.
does anyone feel that the public may be put off hayley by the cost of buying [all of] her albums. both in terms of new album versions and having a set of the old ones [its about 2000NZ]
