Yes, I agree, it was what I think she was referring too with her Hobbit comment. A sort of idealistic country life before the industrial revolution.
I would like to know how they made those chimneys rise up out of the ground. Stunning!

Okay, I've been watching it, and no signs of anything Hobbit related. What on earth did Hayley mean??? All that's happening now is the parade of nations. At the beginning of the ceremony, the scene was set to depict rural England before the industrial revolution. It definitely evoked thoughts of Hobbiton and the Shire. Thanks! It did sort of resemble a hobbit hill, I suppose. Only thing missing were hobbit holes! :rollin I was still a little disappointed. LOL None of it was particularly exciting for me, though. My least favorite part was the party thing. But I did find Rowan Atkinson's part amusing.

Hmm, is she wearing it to whatever event we think she might be attending today? Did that even happen, after all? Whatever it was, she still had time to tidy up before she went. If she went.

Yes, apparently a Kiwi got the bronze medal. All the American coverage showed was the royal cousin. In all the other events, like gymnastics, all they show is the Americans. So, I wonder why they couldn't have shown an American equestrian competitor? I have no idea what any of their names are, and maybe they didn't get a medal (did they?), but it doesn't seem right for the American coverage to leave out American competitors! Oh well, at least the ladies did well in gymnastics, I hear.

Don't believe it Richard, France were nowhere!
Of course Team GB got the gold in that event. And the Aussies the silver.

Didn't I see that France won a gold in Judo? I think it was women's. Not that I saw it on TV, I just was looking through the events today, and who won, and all that.
