Good Grief, a tweet from Hayley, the first for 6 months! FINALLY!!!That sounds to be the closes thing to an album announcement as we may get. So does anybody have guesses of when this album going to be released? I'm thinking March/April. If she waits till the end of the year, I will be gone. Hopefully, she will start giving us teasers next month, and we get more info.

Lol This is definitely not an official announcement. If it was, we wouldn’t be guessing when the release is. Lol In fact, it is not even an announcement! Lol Yes, I agree it’s the closest thing we HAVE gotten, but since there is no date, title, or anything else, it’s not a real announcement. While I am definitely excited about this post, it isn’t that much improvement on the one back in May asking us if we’re ready for new music! Lol Well, she did say, let’s get this party started, so that is definitely an improvement on that other post. Sorry, not trying to be negative, but the fact that we’re thinking this is all we’re getting is a sign of how worn out waiting we’ve gotten (and who can blame us?).

Crissy will probably appreciate this reply to Hayley's tweet: And the full photo from instagram: http://www.instagram.com/p/B62hxceF-lk I do hope she looks happier on her album cover, just saying.

Maybe Hayley read what I said last week and thought it was time she did something about it!! Did I miss the social media post from Hayley and Chris wishing her fans a Merry Christmas ? If I didn't I can't say I'm really surprised. She shares so little these days. I "follow" her on Twitter (follow what ?!) and the last post there was on June 17th !

If that’s all it takes to get her to post, we wouldn’t have this problem to begin with! 😂

Sorry, not trying to be negative, but the fact that we’re thinking this is all we’re getting is a sign of how worn out waiting we’ve gotten (and who can blame us?). My comments were meant to be a little biting Libby. We don't know her whole situation professionally. She may be independent....she may not. We really don't know. It seems she is with a label. But with poor sales of Hushabye and no music out in 7 years, I don't expect her budget to be huge for this album. Could be wrong. Been wrong the whole time it seems. I would not be surprised though to see a post on her social media pages in a month or two with a post of "Album out on xx/xx/xxxx!! Pre-order now at these locations:...." with the picture of the front cover. And that be all there is except for a teaser or two close to the actual drop date. That seems to be how it's done now. Without much fanfare. Record labels can't really afford it. And artists make more money in touring these days than in album sales unless your Adele or Ed Sheeran. Also, our "news" of Hayley's career has come from her social media pages the last 7 years, so I am expecting that to continue. All I can say is...I am tired of waiting. Tell me what I need to know and release a single now. Keep us a little entertained. Thought now that things have slowed down at work really starting in February, I may go through YouTube to rewatch old live videos, music videos, etc to get myself excited again if possible. But I know I'm not the awestruck fan I was 4/5 years ago. She is going to have to impress me again.

Believe me, I understand. I was where you are years ago, and my frustrations were constantly criticized. So I won’t fault you for being a bit pessimistic even though I was. 🙄 But despite the agonizingly slow progress, it still is encouraging to me that she said the word record. She almost never mentions it at all, let alone says it’s “time” for it, or about getting the party started. So we’re obviously getting closer. She’s made the album, what else is left for her to do?

Yes Frenchie, a little snippet of a song or two that she has recorded wouldn't hurt would it ? As you say, to keep us a little entertained. I wonder when Hayley says "record" if she literally means a record, i.e. vinyl ?

I wonder when Hayley says "record" if she literally means a record, i.e. vinyl ? One of my favorite bands which includes several members from Australia, would always refer to albums as a record. I would assume New Zealand is similar, though I had always assumed that also meant that was a UK thing, but what do I know? 🤷♀️

So I won’t fault you for being a bit pessimistic even though I was. 🙄 Being that I was one to criticize your frustrations a couple of years ago, you are probably thinking I'm getting my just desserts. Please know I'm not thinking about this album all the time. No hissy fits. Just a sort of apathy that is developing. I have a long list of artists to look up and go through their careers. New genres of music to explore like jazz. I was cleaning house yesterday, and found several albums I have not listened to that I bought in flea markets or used CD shops the last 2/3 years. So musically, I'm good. My New Year's goal is to finally decorate my house I brought a few years back. Shocking I know, but I never thought I would buy a house and decorate on my own. Didn't know what I wanted to do with it. A few fun groups and events I have put off that I could participate in this year. I popped in to see where we stood on the album the other day, and it's like FINALLY! This is the year....supposedly. But despite the agonizingly slow progress, it still is encouraging to me that she said the word record. She almost never mentions it at all, let alone says it’s “time” for it, or about getting the party started. So we’re obviously getting closer. She’s made the album, what else is left for her to do? I don't really know. Music videos? She did that big photo shoot in Itlay 2 (3?) years ago. Does she need another one? The last thought would be the business strategy in launching the album. I know the holidays may have slowed them down, but do they need 3 months to figure out a business model? It's not like Hayley is Adele or Taylor Swift in popularity or album sales. They made the comment that they have mixed and mastered the album in October, so it's in the can ready for printing and shipping. I guess they are waiting for a good time for Hayley to be able to tour in support for the album this year, which could determine the release date. That's all I can figure. Just seems like there is no looking ahead in this project. It's like Hayley does one step in the process of making the record, and takes 6 months off. While she is working, she gets us all pumped and cautiously optimistic for the album. But in the 6 months of inactivity, the momentum slows back down and we get frustrated again. Not to mention, no communication during the 6 month vacation. And right now we are in one of those "vacation" periods. Lucky I suppose we got the New Year's post and a little update with a picture.

Something to get everyone out of hibernation and start talking about her again. Vinyl strangely has come back in vogue. Sells are increasing every year while CDs are declining. So it could be.

Well I still call them records! Or albums. I don't think it implies vinyl, or even necessarily CD. It will be interesting to see what the format is, when it happens, and how it is promoted/marketed. I still have a working vinyl record player but it isn't currently connected, I listen to almost everything streaming from my PC these days, just occasionally using my DVD player for CDs. It's nice to have all the old vinyl and CD versions though so I hope it's not download or streaming only.

Lol I am thinking no such thing. Actually your comments are not the first to pop into my memory... I also said nothing about a “hissy fit”, but I’m wondering if you’re using that term because you think that’s what my complaints were... 😏 And if they seemed that way, it was my constant defense of my viewpoints. It just kind of rankles a bit that now it’s okay for everyone else to complain, but it never was for me. Except now, she’s actually made her album and is poised to release it, now you all are down in the dumps about it, while now, I actually feel more hopeful. I was trying to show my understanding regarding your feelings on the matter, though. But apparently you don’t really care? 🤔🤷♀️ As for her 6 month vacation, I’m not entirely sure what you mean. She was in NZ for about 6 months, and that’s where she started on it for real, and she worked on it quite a bit of that time period. While we didn’t see much about it in the summer, we did see a few tidbits here and there, whether from Hayley or her people. And now this latest post. I would love it to be out now, but I am totally expecting it to be a little while yet. I’m so used to waiting that I’m pretty much resigned to it. You have to admit, while very subtle, it’s very encouraging.
