Yeah, I’ve been just as “guilty” as anyone else here, but I just found it a bit surprising that a beach could be identified so easily, when there are hundreds of beaches this could have been, as far as anyone unfamiliar with the area could tell without researching it. That’s all. Lol On that note, is there some reason why no one discovered where Hayley was doing her yoga etc. in Auckland? Or that park she was at viewing the sunrise after her yoga session? 😉 You see my point now? We must know the beach, but not other things? Just saying... Of course, beaches are way more interesting than yoga. It's probably a case of having time to do it, you can get lucky quickly, or it can easily turn in to fruitless hours of guessing, Googling, calculating, sun angles, plane speeds, floor tile origins, electrical fittings, plants and the regions they would grow in at any given time of year, products in the background or foreground and their countries of origin and use. Interestingly if you knew what time the picture was taken you could probably get the names of the two ships in the background, their cargoes and destinations. There is an eye-opening example of what forensic analysis of imagery can reveal, in the BBC Africa's identification of the exact location and the identities of soldiers shown in some footage taken on a dirt track in Cameroon, when several civilians were murdered. The 10 minute video on the link below - available worldwide I think - is an award-winning example of what can be proved from a bit of video footage taken out in the wilderness of Africa. WARNING - UPSETTING VIDEO CLIPS ARE INCLUDED ON THE LINK PAGE SO AVOID IT IF YOU DON'T LIKE THIS KIND OF THING.www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-africa-45599973/cameroon-atrocity-finding-the-soldiers-who-killed-this-womanClearly, photo and video analysis can help bring criminals to justice - but the downside is as Libby points out the potential invasion of privacy.

A little ice cream never hurt anyone. Everything in moderation, right? 😉 Very true, Libby and Comet! A little happy food! I do splurge on ice cream and soda (pop/fizzy drink) on occasion...although the guilt of doing so usually sets in soon after. Yes! Ice cream castles in the air! I was singing that to myself when looking at tall thunderstorm clouds yesterday! Indulging here and there isn’t likely to send anyone’s health over the edge, as long as you are otherwise healthy. 😉 Thunder clouds around here are sometimes a foreboding gray or dark gray blue, not very delectable looking. Lol

Lol You've convinced me! I got myself a bowl of mint chocolate chip and cookies-n-cream ice cream! Complete with a banana and sprinkles! My fav flavor is chocolate peanut butter! I wonder what ice cream flavors Hayley likes...strawberry or vanilla maybe! Thunder clouds (more specifically cumulonimbus clouds) here are tall, white and puffy, resembling mashed potatoes...or scoops of vanilla ice cream!

Haha, good, I hope you enjoyed your ice cream! 🙂 Of course we get white ones, too, but that’s usually when they come while it’s still somewhat sunny. If it’s already cloudy, or going to be extra stormy, then they can get really dark and threatening.

There is always a danger of making mistakes or jumping to conclusions, which I did within seconds when I saw this picture, I saw the wine glass and assumed it was evening (first mistake), therefore I assumed it was looking west at sunset which would have needed to be on a peninsula or an island in California to have the sun setting over the sea. https://www.instagram.com/p/BzhafxDFLYZ

Now you're confusing me Paul!
Doesn't the sun set in the WNW in the LA region at this time of year? And that's over the sea!

(something else led me to believe it was a sunrise, which would have reversed west and east) A week in Austria at 38 degrees celcius will do that to you, frazzle brain. I think I should go back to bed Oh by the way, Google earth will not let me use street view of Austria while I am in Ireland

That's a relief, you had me checking which way is west and which way is east, for a moment there! Google Streetview for Austria shows up fine here in England, maybe Ireland needs to trigger Article 50 or something? Second thoughts, maybe not! Cheers, Dave

I liked it better when Hayley was in front of it! Yes, Hayley’s photo is prettier, but intrigued to see he’s with the group. And remember that story Chris posted last week with sound equipment at the beach house (I can only assume it’s the same place)? That either means they’re working on vacation, or it’s more than just a vacation. I still think it was Hayley sitting behind the equipment, now that we know that she’s been there. I don’t think there’s any way to prove or disprove it, though. 😉 I had given in and said it might be Justin Long, since he has long enough hair, but so far no evidence that he’s there at all. Unless maybe he was there for just that one day.

New story from Hayley! It’s of Hayley, at a reasonable angle and distance, and she looks amazing and is smiling. 😉 Oh, and Jason took another photo with that tree in it, with a ship, as well. 😉

That tree is famous now! Since Jason Lowrie posted that pic of the ship and that tree on his Instagram...I asked him what kind of tree it is...and told him the all of at HWI are grateful to all at Barefoot Recording Studios!

Libby, your comments of the 6th are duly noted. I was aware of the petition loony, but not the others. The only one I'd heard of was the German hotel incident about 15 years ago. Incidentally, I meant when Hayley left London for LA at the end of 2017. Further to Dave's comment on forensic photo analysis, I went for another holiday in LA yesterday evening and took a virtual stroll round the streets behind [ the] beach. Fascinating. [ But] no more location info from me on it. Comet, regarding your comment on the shipping, which I took to be somewhat tongue-in-cheek, you may be intrigued to know that it is possible to find details of ships and their whereabouts. There are a number of websites presenting this information based on the AIS (Automatic Identification System) ship transponders, shore stations, and satellites. They give real time and historical data. I looked at www.myshiptracking.com, ran the playback for 4 July 2019 between 20.00 to 20.10 local time, which was the approximate time of the photo based on sunset time, and there they are. Correct location and pointing south westerly. Much to my irritation, the site wouldn't give the ship names on the historical playback, but other sites might. I didn't check. Once again, all in the public domain. Now cargo manifests on the other hand are, I assume, not available publically because these are a private matter for the shipping companies and their customers. I like the latest photo of Hayley on the bench on the balcony. She looks so much happier these day. It's good to see. With all these photos taken "when the sun goes down" and of the beach, perhaps Hayley should do a cover of the 1980 Martha and the Muffins hit for the new album. If release is imminent, then a late runner might cause a short delay, but I'm sure none of us would mind.

Hayley did a gig on a cruise ship back in 2013 and we were tracking it during her voyage, it ran into some nasty weather on the night she was to perform. A band on shipEcho beach then, for some reason Eric Clapton's 461 Ocean Boulevard kept going through my head.
