Hi all Hayley posted a new Instagram Story... I had to use a different image hosting site as postimages.org is down.

My goodness! 24 hour is a short time in the life of Hayley Westenra and well as politics!
In the 24 hours since my last brief check of her Instagram account and this Forum, Instagram posting has once again broken out, and all you regular Forum worthies have been hot on the various trails, leaving me standing. Well done, Libby, for finding the studio. I've seen the coast story (any one found the place yet?), but I somehow missed the other Instagram story of Hayley reading her new book.
Much to my irritation, I still cannot see some of the photos or links you are posting, Libby. It's clear that you posted the photo you found of the studio, or some sort of link to it, in your post with the Hayley levitating photo, but immediately below " And, already done the sleuthing. This is Roundhead Studios in …", all I can see is a blank blue space, then the text " And, here's Chris' post from several hours earlier... ". All very frustrating!
I assume everyone else can see it, so I reckon it's a problem at my end. Can anyone advise me on how I can fix this, please?. As before, I'm using Windows 7 and Firefox.
As for Hayley's Instagram post, I reckon that we're as good as there. The clues have morphed into what are, in effect, statements of intent. Possibly just weeks to release? Shall we have a sweep stake?
Libby, since you (almost) asked, I'll give a brief explanation of time telling by the sun. Bit nerdy, I acknowledge – it's a scientist's affliction. The earth make a full rotation, 360 degrees, in 24 hours. 360 divided by 24 = 15. So that's 15 degrees of rotation per hour. The sun is always at its highest when due south in the northern hemisphere or due north in the southern hemisphere (forgetting that was the schoolgirl oversight I made when commenting on the balcony video a couple of weeks ago). This is the definition of mid-day or noon – sun at its zenith. So, from the position of the sun (or shadows) it's possible to estimate the time before or after noon by estimating the number of degrees between the sun and due south or due north. 15 degrees = I hour, 30 degrees = 2 hours, 45 degrees = 3 hours etc. Doesn't work too well at night, of course! As Joe noted, don't forget to allow for any local summertime daylight saving clock adjustments. This usually makes local noon 1.00 pm. In our delightful and slightly pompous way of phrasing, we in the UK refer to our daylight saving as "British Summer Time".
An amusing aside to finish. I see from her Instagram account that Hayley no longer considers herself to be a human being! Or a song writer for that matter. She did claim to be a "singer, songwriter, and human being". Now she's just claiming to be a "singer".

I will try to post them as images instead of embedding them. It’s just faster to embed it, and as mentioned, they tend to come up really large, and then I have to copy and paste the caption separately.
I will post Chris’ post as an image later, and then I’ll post the Taiwan fan page version of the story, because it shows the same large rock/seastack in the ocean seen in his. His post was from Piha, NZ, which I found is west of Auckland. So it’s hard to say which came first, the studio or Piha. Because Chris posted his pic hours before both of Hayley’s Auckland posts, yet her post last night appears to be back on that more scenic area. It’s possible she went back and forth between the 2 spots, but I think it’s more likely the studio stuff happened before the excursion, and she just posted the pic later on when she was relaxing by a gorgeous beach.

Okay, here are the photos for comparison: Chris' photo from Piha, NZ (caption is Purple Piha): His moustache actually reminds me a bit of Charlie Chaplin here, rather than a certain Austrian. LOL The striped shirt also reminds me of the outfits skaters tend to wear when they skate to the theme from La Strada Screen capture from Hayley's story; here you can see her full caption on the story:

Hello Chrissy! I had a look on ProBoards’ Support forum for help on your issue seeing social media photos. Some things to try are to open the forum in a private window in Firefox or to enable third-party cookies. Or perhaps you can try a different web browser such as Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge. Apologies for the trouble! It is custom for HWI to have a competition for newly-released Hayley CD’s! Offered only to forum members

I have not posted in a while due to work and life (however I have been reading regularly), but the picture of Hayley in the studio is some good news. And the new picture from her Italian photo shoot is the cherry on the cake. I thought last year was *the* year, and it wasn't. So I will not get my hopes up. All I will say is whenever this album gets released, I hope she gives us a head's up cause I want to be there for the USA release party/promotion(if there is any).
What I want right now besides new music and tour dates is Hayley to give us a good long interview/live video chat. She doesn't have to talk about you know who, but to talk to us about music and how are things going and what activities she has discovered would be good for me. Could we ask her about that on Instagram/twitter?
Joe, you may need 2 copies for that custom HWI competition, however I don't think we have a lot of members like we used to for that luxury. Hopefully, people come back when Hayley releases an album date.....

Thanks Libby for re-posting some of those pics.
Thanks Joe for the advice. I tried Internet Explorer and everything appears, but ye Gods! Is IE a clunky browser, or what?
Back to Firefox and a fiddle with the settings. Cookies were enabled but "Trackers" were blocked for some sites. With all Tracker blocking turned off, it works and I can now see all Libby's pics and links. Can't say I'm happy having to turn Tracker blocking off, but I suppose I can re-enable it and just turn it off temporarily if I think it's hiding something.
Thanks again, Joe. Your advice did the trick.
Back to more pertinent matters, it appears to be all quiet again on the Westen (ra) Instagram front. Acknowledgements to Erich Remarque.
Incidentally, please can someone post a link to the Taiwanese site that you stalwarts frequent? I feel that I'm missing out not having access to it.

I am so happy that we got that Firefox issue sorted! You are very welcome! Here is the link to the Taiwanese page in question...it is a Facebook page called Hayley Westenra Fans Taiwan, and is run by Frank Lin who is a very good friend of the forum... www.facebook.com/hayleywestenra.fans.twYes, quiet on the Westenra front! Maybe she is recording songs and busy in the studio (maybe not but I like to think so!)

Just an observation on browsers and the things we use them for.
I think Instagram and Facebook and WhatsApp all belong to the one company (I gather they are trying to join the three together)
Instagram in particular works best with "CHROME" is this not the reason for the title "Chrome IG Story"
which I think ties us all in to Google Chrome whether we like it or not.
I just use BitDefender to protect me from the boogey man, You do have to pay for it, but it works.
I do still have two older computers running Windows 98, but they are NEVER connected to the internet, they just run cad/cam machines.

My quick daily look at the Forum and H's Instagram before bed. Still busy as a busy thing. Just finished my work for the day and it's gone 11 pm. Hope it's all worth it. Note to self: get a life!
Thanks again Joe for your help on the browser issue and also for the link. Too late to look tonight. Will try tomorrow …
Interesting about Chrome, Comet. If things because seriously difficult, I might try it, but I've used FF for many, many years, and I do get rather stuck in my ways, being from "the stone age" as certain younger members of my household claim.

I just bought a new PC a few weeks ago. I love it! I was making due with an eleven-year-old computer with Windows Vista! The hard drive on it was nearly full so it was time for a change! Now if I can just upgrade from DSL I will be all set! Just finished adding my Hayley albums onto iTunes... naturally it took a long time as I had to listen to all the songs and read the CD booklets!
I may venture into the world of Twitter one day...sorta waiting for Hayley to use it more.

Well, one way to tell Hayley doesn't use twitter is the fact she still has not changed her profile photo there, even though she did on instagram and FB. Also, as I've mentioned before, even though sometimes she has twitter posts, I do not believe she actually logs in to post them, because I found out that there is some way to post your Sm posts simultaneously on instagram and twitter. I've looked into trying it myself before to save time, but it seemed too complicated. I just think that ever since the problems with crazy twitter stalkers a few years ago, she has a bit of an aversion to twitter. I stopped using it much for a while myself, more because I didn't really have much to say than anything else, and I still don't. I do it more now that I have a smartphone and can look at it when I'm waiting for things, times where I used to just stare into space. LOL

I had extreme difficulty finding USB hard drives or USB key drives that were compatible with Windows XP Professional or Windows Vista when I went to back up my old laptop after the keyboard failed. Just got the same message "Won't pass Windows Logo Testing" may have to use an older external hard drive and transfer the material in batches onto a newer computer then back off to a larger hard drive.. bah ! technology.

My school age granddaughters assure me that Instagram is the way forward, not twitter and certainly not Facebook, which are, they say, for the oldies (their parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts). Not me though! They use Instagram, and a few other social media platforms they and all their school friends have, none of which I've heard of except for whatsapp! Snapchat is 'old hat' too, they tell me.
As for Windows, Joe well done with your upgrade and Paul, you would definitely find things easier if you replaced Windows XP and 98, even I am on Windows 7 and 8.1 these days. But you'd likely need a new computer to run it. I don't like 10 though and won't use that until I am forced to (when security update support for 7 and 8.1 has ended). They have a much wider range of programs to choose from, run faster and you can have things like plug and play dual or triple monitors, even 4K and of course ultrafast broadband if you are in the right areas.
Cheers,
Dave

I use instagram to follow Hayley and skaters mainly, and of course I occasionally post photos there myself. But I use FB to connect with my friends, especially former co-workers, because I wouldn't be able to stay in touch with them otherwise. Despite the fact that you see people texting wildly on their phones so much, it's shocking how terrible people are at corresponding. I try Messenger via Facebook, I try texting, and it seems like nobody's ever actually "home". So I'm left wondering what it is people are doing on their phones all day, and how other people who have friends stay connected.
I don't think I've ever heard of WhatsApp except for on this forum. I've never heard it mentioned anywhere else. I only hear of Snapchat. It's not surprising if Americans are behind the times, as they are with just about everything else. LOL
