It's nice to think that Hayley might be going home for a while. If she is, then I do hope she has a wonderful time with family, friends and the NZ summer weather. We had heavy rain and wind in the SW of the UK over the w/e. Not envious … Now, I'm going to try a little amateur sleuthing which I hope will be worthy of the high standards of sleuthing on HWI. The buildings in the background of Hayley's photo appear to be the new terminal at the western end of LAX. That suggests that the photo was taken from the Tom Bradley International Terminal, which is where ANZ flies from. The aircraft wing appears to be that of a Boeing 777, a long haul aeroplane flown by ANZ. We see a very low sun and we're looking west. Therefore it's sunset, not sunrise, so just maybe the "sunrise, sunset, sunrise" caption is not strictly accurate. Sunset in LA at the moment is about 1700 and ANZ have an Auckland flight departing at 2055. 1700 is bit early to be in the terminal for a 2055 flight, but perhaps Hayley likes to have time in hand. If I'm right so far, then it's an overnight west bound (chasing the sun) flight of just under 13 hours duration which crosses the International Date Line and so would arrive in Auckland at about 0700 Auckland time two days later. Therefore more like "sunset, then sunrise after a long night". I hope Hayley had one of those new flat-bed seats!

Thanks Chrissy, I was going to get the globe and the dividers and calculator out this morning when I saw the picture. I assumed her starting point was LAX (Seems to be an X shape over the roof of the distant building in the photo) fifteen degrees per hour for the earth's rotation, average plane speed about 600 miles per hour or 1,000 kph, I had Google Earth open to start taking measurements, but we didn't have a direction of flight east or west, so I went back to sleep. welcome to the forum Chrissy

Wherever Hayley is, she posted two pics to her Instagram Stories... Also, her propic has changed to the pic of a painted rose on the pavement.

Yes, this is the pic from about 6 months ago: http://www.instagram.com/p/BjMwDXQnAnJ If she was in New Zealand, then at the time she posted the story, it was around 9 in the morning on Friday (it's now after 7pm there). So, again, if she actually is in NZ, I would imagine she drank the wine the night before, which was Thursday night NZ time. On the other hand, if she's in London, it would have been after 8pm this evening.

Hayley has also used the black heart again ??
Rose is popular if the weather is good, so it may be somewhere warm.

Hayley posted 3 stories close to an hour ago. I think she's back in LA/USA, because she was apparently having Thanksgiving dinner, including her first pumpkin pie. Also, because although it's evening in NZ, it's already Friday. I wonder where she went, after all!

Oh, and I just checked back, and there's already a new one of her holding a dog that strongly resembles Martin's dog, Dixie! Though, I have to say Dixie is faarrr more adorable. I had the pleasure of meeting her (and Martin!) in England, as well.

TGattheNakanos isn't necessarily an easy translation if you didn't know there last name was Nakano (any relation to Yukari Nakano, who skated to Amazing Grace in 2005? ) I did notice last night that she started following a certain "beckynak" on instagram. Her account is private, although (now that I know her full last name), her FB account shows that she lives in San Francisco, and is from Davis, CA. So, maybe Hayley is/was in one pf those places.

Now that I see the photo again, this dog is certainly very cute, but in this particular photo, she/he doesn't look as alert and bright-eyed as I've seen your little Dixie to be. That said, this doggy is probably sleepy. LOL

Hello again HWI-ers. I see that John H's Thanksgiving photos have disappeared. Have they been removed, is this another photo hosting issue, or is my PC playing up?
Also, where might I find these "Instagram Stories". I can find nothing using my PC. Does one need an Apple or Android device to see them? Any assistance will be gratefully received!

Instagram Stories are only viewable for 24 hours after they are posted. My post linked to the original photos on Instagram. I think that gives the best possible photo quality but of course they also only last 24 hours. I think Joe might have taken screenshots to post on Facebook.
The stories originally only appeared on smartphone devices, but a few months ago it changed so that I can now see them on my PC - I use the Google Chrome browser. Presumably you need an Instagram account, as I only see stories from the people that I 'follow'.

I will be happy to repost Hayley's Thanksgiving photos! Sorry for any inconvenience! Like John had said, Instagram Story pics only appear for one day, and I did save them to post on our HWI Facebook page.
