Hello Libby! I think you tried to post the enlargement. I've added the smaller image to your post. You can resize an image in the opening tag like this: Richard

These are beautiful pictures, Libby. They bring back memories of my grand tour across the States but in those days it was a very basic 35mm camera and I took slides. Now I am at that phase of looking back on life and I have a wealth of archives through which to sort and work out what to d with, as well as enjoy the memories that come flooding back. My mountain views were California around the giant redwoods and the Grand Canyon. Perhaps, if they are good enough, when I come to sorting through, I'll share those too.

Hello Libby! Following Richard's adjustemnts, I have added a clickable link to the larger photo, its even better bigger! If you hit "quote" or (within 24 hours) "modify" you can see how i did it. Why don't you post some in the Photography thread? They will be much easier to find there, in the future. Cheers, Dave

Because I didn't take any of the photos. I'm not usually the one to take photos on a trip, since I'm not very practiced at photography, so I don't own very many scenic photos myself. Actually, Richard, I copied the url from the smaller version, but in my experience, the smaller version will not post despite of this.

Okay, I got it to work myself. But I think what I might have done is copy the link from the google images result. You know how when you search for a photo on G images, and when you click on a photo, it comes up with the website, with the chosen photo sort of in a pop-up type thing? Well, even though the photo was smaller there, it probably contained the link to the bigger view. But, when I tried what you said Dave, it didn't appear that Richard had to re-size it. It appears he just posted the smaller version on the website. Thanks Richard!

As you start to head east, going towards the mountain passes, you might see Mt. Si on the way, in North Bend: Mt. Si with snow:Snoqualmie Falls: Lake Kachess:The Bavarian village in Leavenworth, just east of the mountains: Click on image to enlarge. As you can see, there's a stark difference between Washington state west of the Cascade Mts., and the eastern side: Near George, Washington, central WA: Columbia River Gorge:Had enough yet?

Hi Libby, I know what you're talking about... I wish I could take better photos too! The TAFE college near where I work offers short courses in beginners photography, so I'm really thinking about doing a course and learning how to take some proper photos.

Hello Libby! You're quite right. I simply copied the url of the image that appeared when I clicked on your link, then I pasted it into your post. Richard

OK . . . I debated about whether to post this picture or not for fear of creating jealousy among those who feel their mountains are the most beautiful. Mount Sunflower - highest point in Kansas (4,039ft). Takes your breath away, doesn't it. The drive up to Mt. Sunflower is pretty spectacular, too! ps. I do love the real mountains, are there more pictures? BillR
