Hi Ross! Thanks for sharing some interesting moments from your day! Today those of us living on the US east coast are seeing a near-blizzard! All October snowfall records are being smashed, as my area is set to see snowfall totals around 10 inches... www.erh.noaa.gov/bgm/winter/stormtotal/StormTotalSnowFcst.png

Hello everyone OK, I suppose you are all now wondering why I have posted a picture of a bus in this thread - so what if I told you that it isn't a bus? Well it is and it isn't! You see it's actually a theatre! My friend and I sampled and thoroughly enjoyed this novel form of theatre last Wednesday - the play is called "Skybus" and the bus in the picture has been specially painted to imitate our actual airport service which is called Skylink. The action of the play takes place on a journey to the airport and involves a small group of people heading off to work or on holiday. Once at the airport, we head into the departure hall where a check in desk has been set up for our imaginary airline "Simple Wings" and we see our characters as they prepare to head off on holiday. We then move into the arrivals hall to see them return two weeks later, before boarding the bus and returning to Derby. I have seen many different types of theatre over the past few decades but nothing quite like this performance. I've just heard that the current performances have sold out completely and that the run has been extended. Best wishes Grant

Very interesting indeed. Thanks for that Grant. Rather like but on a much bigger scale, if audience size much reduced, what Pendley Shakespeare did at the opening of The Merry Wives this year. The actors, in full character and wardrobe, intermingled with the audience as it arrived, as if they were audience and the audience part of the show. In that case is was a 1930s croquet match and being out doors the stage was lost in the grounds and the grounds part of the stage.
A most interesting experience.

Peter S. Yes Peter. In our case, the actors queued to board the bus along with the audience, and interacted as any passenger may do by asking "Is this the right place for ...." etc. With only 33 seats for each performance there was plenty of interaction on the journey too. Best wishes Grant

Hello Grant! Thanks very much for sharing this delightful form of mobile theatre! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif"All the world's a stage" as they say! Reminds me of some of the train excursions round here on the Stourbridge Line Railway, where they do a marvellous "great train robbery" and "whodunit" excursions. Speaking of buses, time to change gear Some pics of the garden! Fancy having to shovel the ground before raking the leaves!! Nine inches of snow... Merry Halloween ! One could use a pumpkin for the snowman's head

Not impossible--the Harry Potter bus had the upper deck looking through to the lower deck in which space a chandelier was hung. Remove that and you have a whole circle around the hole, or would it be oblong? That would have to be lozenge-shaped Peter S.

Peter S. Ah! But Peter, the buses in Harry Potter were tri-deckers - saw a photo of one only the other day. Would be a rather precarious occupation balancing in a seat in the circle and even the upper circle whilst the bus swayed along on it's journey. Not to mention the fact that the upper circle would no doubt be unceremoniously removed at the first bridge it tried to pass under! Best wishes Grant
