Thanks for the reports Grant and Mark. It sounds like another memorable night (but what Hayley performance isn't). Did you guys manage to get any photos?
The highlight of all the River of Dreams concerts for me has been Hayley's first song in the second half. I don’t know what it is about “I know You By Heart” which I had never heard until I saw the video of Sophie singing it. I loved the song then but when I heard Hayley sing it, well, I was blown away and still am every time I hear it – I just don’t want it to end. It still gives me goose bumps, sorry, I mean fuzzies.
Just as well I videoed the whole song then isn't it Grant, however as I am on holiday now it will be a week before I can get it Dave to be HWI'ed
Thank you so much for posting the photos and impressions of the concert. I really enjoy reading your accounts. Someday I'll get to experience a concert myself . . . .
Thanks so much for the photos and reports so far!! I can't wait to see the video of the song! Sounds like a great concert! I love the little diamante clip that Hayley had in her hair when she arrived at the venue.
It is raining in Devon, so I thought I would post a few more photo's for you.
Hi Steve,
That's fair enough because it's raining in Sussex so I thought I'd look at them!
I love the one of Hayley introducing the new song, apparently looking right at the camera. It makes me wonder if we should hold a photography competi...
It was nice to see a large turnout from HWI for this concert on Friday and to meet a couple of members new to me in Tom (from the US) and Rodders (all the way from NZ) along with the usual suspects.
Hayley was on great form and was very much engaged with the crowd such as her giggles when the roof was leaking in the pouring rain at the start of the show and when the mic wouldn't stay in place at the piano before the new song (that I'm sure we'll being hearing more of - maybe even those lucky enough to be in Swansea tonight).
I brought along my parents who were very taken with Hayley (the second time they have seen her after the Palladium show in February with Jonathan) and remarked how lovely and good natured she was with what must be the most disorganised mob I have ever seen after a Hayley concert. The queue is usually far more orderly, although there was certainly no pushing and shoving as one might expect if fans of some other performers were involved.
Raven were also fantastic and the mix of Czardas and the Godfather theme is growing into a big favourite of mine. As Roger commented to Dave afterwards, we now go along for the whole show and appreciate even the parts that do not directly involve Hayley.
I may see some of you at Hampton next week, depending on the British summertime...
