Well Odyssey does bounce around a lot at Amazon Canada and today (Saturday) it's jumped up from around no. 1,000 to no. 29 (!) as I write. Obviously, Hayley's been on Canadian TV - or there's been some promotional activity on TV... can any of our Canadian members help to explain what's happened? By the way (to save another post in the other thread) Odyssey remained in the the official Canadian Classical top 15 this week (no. 12) and is up again in the US official Classical Crossover chart to no. 7 Dave

Interesting news Dave, wonder if we have an hourly chart on Odyssey's ranking on amazon.ca, will we see a spike right after the Ottawa concert? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifDidn't know the chart is updated hourly, may be that's why we see the ranking fluctuates so much. BTW, the Gotta Skate special will be broadcasted on CBC Monday night, so we should be expecting another jump in the chart, hopefully! Allen

Thank you for the information Dave, and well done Hayley! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifIggy attended Friday's concert in Ottawa, but Hayley played another one there last night, so "Odyssey" could go higher today. Fingers crossed! Richard

You were right -- Odyssey is now at #17 -- and the special was broadcast last night! I watched the show yesterday and it was FANTASTIC! There were some really short clips (no sound, just video while Kurt was talking) of Hayley rehearsing with Andrea. If I had know I would have gotten some stills. Oksana

Oksana Thanks for that information Oksana, fantastic!!!! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif That's the highest end of day position I've seen for Odyssey since before Hayley arrived in North America over a month ago! Odyssey did briefly reach no. 12 in the middle of one day but that didn't last long... Even better, Hayley's DVD is at no. 573 - previous best rank 1,281 i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif OMG, how I wish there was a way for the "Vivo Per Lei" duet with Andrea to be released on a Hayley album or as a single!!! Cheers, Dave

Are you referring to the rehearsal video with Andrea and Hayley while Jamie and David were skating? BTW, do you notice the show is different from the version shown on NBC few months ago? They clearly cut out a number of skates and at least one of Andrea's performances. Haven't compare it to the Dutch version from Gerrit. I like the intros by Kurt, especially what he described Andrea's music... "I don't think that you are listening because you want to know what he said, you want to know what he makes you feel." It's so true! Allen

Is it a bird? Is it a rocket? No, It's Odyssey flying up the charts! Four days ago, the day before the start of the Ireland and UK leg of the Il Divo tour, Odyssey was at no. 2,000 and Odyssey Special edition about 8,000 at Amazon UK. Tonight, after two Irish concerts and two in the UK (Belfast, Cardiff), the Amazon UK rankings look like this: 274 - Odyssey 241 - Odyssey special edition (on prerelease orders) This is the first time I've seen Odyssey Special Edition above Odyssey and the first time it's been ranked higher than no. 1,000. In the Amazon classical chart, they are at no. 5 and no. 7, with Sissel splitting them. In the Amazon pre release classical chart, Odyssey SE is at no. 2. So early in the tour, this is good i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifDave

At last, some 15 minutes before the Odyssey Special Edition changes from a pre-release to a released album, it has reached the no. 1 position at Amazon.UK's classical pre-releases AND no. 1 on their full classical chart, too. On the main Amazon.uk chart, it is now ranked 34. All this is in spite of Amazon increasing their price from £8.99 to £12.99 - which is ridiculous and will obviously stop many people from ordering the album from Amazon when they can see it advertised for much less elsewhere. Amazon rankings seem to be quite price sensitive. At iTunes UK, Odyssey (original edition) is currently the no. 3 classical album (but the no. 2 is a single so it's really no. 2) and Pure is no. 7. I have seen reports of advertising of Odyssey on the main UK TV channels this evening, so all in all, this is starting to look quite good. Fingers crossed for the launch tomorrow! Dave

Buzzjack and Haven forums have reported that in the first internal chart to be published of the big High Street stores, Woolworths have placed Odyssey SE at... number 15 in their pop album chart. This is very good and if reflected in the real charts at the end of the week, should see Odyssey SE get the number 1 classical position above Russell Watson. Good ol' Woolies but there's a lot more work to be done yet. Pure Special Edition reached number 60 in the pop charts. Dave

Here are some more "in house" chart positions for UK Odyssey SE: Asda - 37 Sainsbury's - 14 (it's the highest placed classical or classical crossover album) Woolworths - 15 (one place behind Russell Watson) WH Smith have it at no. 7 and here are the top 10 charts from their main CD page: ALBUMS1. Streets £8.99 2. Pink £8.99 3. Embrace £8.99 4. Journey South £8.99 5. Corrine Bailey Rae £8.99 6. Andy Abraham £8.99 7. Hayley Westenra £8.99 8. Mary J Blige £8.99 9. Jack Johnson £8.99 10. Russell Watson £8.99 CLASSICAL1. Hayley Westenra £8.99 2. Russell Watson £8.99 3. Songs of Praise £5.94 4. Andrea Bocelli £8.99 5. Mozart For Babies £11.89 6. Vittorio Grigolo £8.99 7. Sixteen £8.99 8. Il Divo £8.99 9. Opera Babes £8.99 10. G4 £8.99 The consensus seems to be for Odyssey to go top 20, with a possibility of anywhere between number 7 and that disappointing Asda number 37. I can't find an updated Tesco chart yet though - that one will be critical as they are twice the size of the next biggest supermarket. Update: Tesco - 21 (below Russell and Andrea). Dave
