Hi Folks. I did a little copy and paste with Praisehim's post on the official forum and here is some
"GOOD NEWS"
There were three albums of Hayley Westenra climbing in Top-Ten opsition in TaiWan classical music chart. "Hayley Westenra sing Japanese songs" at NO. 1(after releasing 45weeks), "Hayley Westenra new Christmas album" at NO. 3(releasing in first week), "Pure" at NO. 8(after releasing 38weeks). Let us keep on toes to see what happen in TaiWan classical music chart next time!
Hayley Westenra new Christmas album from NO.3 to NO.1 on this week! "Hayley Westenra sing Japanese songs" at NO. 4(after releasing 46weeks), "Pure" at NO. 7(after releasing 39weeks).

Quoted from the Newstalk ZB 2nd May threadHi, Martin, I am quite sure it is an exageration too... but I was asking of the previous facts that have been so much repeated... Pure selling 4 million of albums and Hayley being the biggest-selling Classical artist of the 21st century, we have heard that so many times I think those are true statements... But I was asking about what's the scope of those statements. It has few to do with this interview, but as the topic appeared here, I thought I would ask... Maybe Dave or anyone else knows the answer to my questions
Michal Hi Michal, I did an estimate of Hayley's Worldwide sales earlier in this thread, in September 2009, which I will quote here: Hi everyone,
In order to answer some questions from Juliette, I have now done an up to date estimate of Hayley's CD sales around the World. Accurate and confirmed information is hard to obtain apart from in the UK and NZ (and for Celtic Woman in the US and Oz) but I have done what I think is a reasonable guesstimate in order to test various claims that I've seen, ranging from 3 million to over 4 million sales.
I think it is safe to say that Hayley has now sold over 3 million CDs Worldwide and over 4 million if you include the sales of Celtic Woman - A New Journey (the CD and the DVD). This is I think in line with what we've seen in the press but it clarifies that the 4 million must include Celtic Woman - A New Journey.
Juliette, to answer your other questions, Pure has sold about two million copies, Odyssey has sold nearly half a million, Treasure/Celtic Treasure about 250,000 and River of Dreams less than 100,000. The rest is made up of the two NZ locally released albums and several locally released Japanese albums and singles. There has not been much change in the totals since then. The following statements are also likely to be true: Hayley has the biggest selling UK classical album of the 21st Century to date - Pure. The two UK editions have sold a combined total of about 770,000 copies to the general public in the UK. This is (still, I think) slightly ahead of two Russell Watson classical albums in 2nd and 3rd places (The Voice and Encore). But her total classical album sales in the UK are well down the list, at 1.1 million or so. I believe that Hayley has sold more albums Worldwide than any other New Zealand performer, that her album Pure has spent more weeks at no. 1 in NZ than any other album by a NZ artist, and that if Paradiso gets to no. 1 in the oficial RIANZ chart, she will then have more no. 1 albums than any other NZ artist (according to the RIANZ Chart Bitz last week, Hayley is currently tied at 4 no. 1 albums with Split Enz and the Feelers). Hayley has also, I am pretty sure, already spent more weeks at no. 1 in the NZ charts than any other NZ act. You are right to be suspicious about some record company press releases and even more suspicious about certain media reports, as journalists very often get the various figures confused. Cheers, Dave

Thanks, Dave, for all the info, it certainly clarifies many things... I am sure as much as we all love Hayley, most of us would like to avoid the exagerations seen in the media when talking about our favourite artist and giving as accurate and precise info as possible.
