Hello everybody! I have moved these two posts from the '3rd International Album' thread, because this promotional CD is a separate product that deserves its own thread. Hi Cathleen,
That's great that you've found this promo disc on eBay; we don't know if it is associated with the new CD though. So these posts should be moved. But for now...
The text is hard to read, but the first paragraph has Hayley describing her forefathers leaving Ireland for NZ. She tells of a plaque in Cathedral Square in ChCh with the Westenra name.
The next paragraph tells of how Hayley's grandmother used to sing Danny Boy and other songs that she used to sing.
The third paragraph is hard to read...anyone ?

This is a great find, Cathleen! I would guess that this CD is associated with Hayley's forthcoming new album, and we'll find out soon. There must be several copies floating around, but I expect most of them have been sent out to radio stations. Joe, I can't make out much of the third paragraph either, but if somebody here wins the CD, perhaps we could get a bigger scan. Good luck Cathleen and everybody! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard

Hi Cathleen, Joe, Richard and everyone! That is a superb find, Cathleen and it will certainly be a collectors item in its own right. Unfortunately, there is still an embargo on any information being made public but I don't think there is any doubt whatsoever that this item is, indeed, associated with the forthcoming album. Roger

Hello Steve and everybody! I started a separate thread for this CD because Cathleen found it on eBay, and also because we don't know the full details of Hayley's new album yet. There could be an interesting story developing, but then again, maybe not! Best Wishes, Richard

Maybe we should ask the sellet on Ebay to give us a better scan and more details...

Let Me Lie - ? only some vague ideas If anyone has more info., please post about it ! Hi Joe, My guess is that One Fine Day is the aria "Un Bel Di" (One Fine Day) from the Puccini Opera Madame Butterfly. Another daring one from Hayley, if it is. Sarah Brightman did it (on Harem?) and called it "It''s A Beautiful Day" but I don't think Hayley would do it in an arrangement like Sarah's... well I hope not, anyway! The only title I can find for Let Me Lie is a pop song I don't think Hayley would cover so maybe this is a new one? Or a translation of some foreign language aria? Well this one's got me beat! Cheers, Dave

Hello Dave, Joe and everybody! This is only a guess, but I'm wondering if 'Let Me Lie' is a brand new song written by Hayley, possibly in collaboration with Sarah Class. We'll find out soon enough! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Richard

Hello Richard, Now you got me to thinking, and that's never a good thing. "Let Me Lie" -- Except I would prefer the truth. "One Fine Day" -- If it's that opera aria sung in English, the Puccini purists will have conniption fits. But if it's the old pop classic, it would prolly sound better in Italian. "Abide With Me" -- Hmm, is she advertising for a flat-mate? Stay tuned. "Danny Boy" -- A possible duet with her grandmother? "E Parl Ra" -- If you insist.

Could, 'Let me Lie' be followed by 'in green pastures...'? I.e., a psalm? (21?) Peter S,

Hi Display Nape: Peter,
Yes they are. This is the promo CD that is likely to be distributed to the radio stations to promote the album. The five tracks were therefore our first clue to the eventual tracklisting.
