Hi Nicola, With Katherine's album due for release in November (6th, we believe), it will be eligible for the CBAs in 2007. As Hayley's isn't due for release until February or March, it will not qualify until 2008. It has been suggested by reliable sources that Hayley's next album may include some original songs and we know she has spent some time songwriting for the past year or so. We have not heard any though! Apart from that, I would welcome a mixture of Celtic and Classical - something along the lines of Pure would suit me very nicely. Roger

Hi Roger, Yes i hope it has a Celtic feel to it this time, with the Classical since she has too to be eligable for Classical Charts. Will be interesting to hear when the NZ release dates are: for Pure it was in July 2003 and Odyssey August, 2005, i hope that does not make it September 2007. Belinda

I'd love to hear a few good original songs from Hayley. I think the original songs are always the best as the artist can make them their own without any comparison. Also I hope there are no more versions of Ave Maria. Although I love most of the versions, every artist in the world seems to record a version or two in their careers - again I prefer a bit more originality.
Would be certainly interesting to hear some of the songs that Hayley has written. She must have got some great musical inspiration from travelling all over the world and meeting interesting people
So I can't wait for a new cd from Hayley. Sometimes I think we are a bit short changed as Katherine Jenkins has produced at least an album a year. Still Hayley has her voice to look after and hopefully its quality rather than quantity. I'm afraid to admit that Odyssey hasn't been playing too much on my mp3 player recently.

Also I hope there are no more versions of Ave Maria. Whoops, somebody phone UCJ and ask them to take Ave Maria off the All Angels album or Katie will be upset.

With Hayley writing some of her own songs, I believe her next (third International) album is well worth waiting for!
Anything Hayley sings is, as far as I'm concerned, 'perfect' but if she's written it as well, then I guess I'll consider my mind already blown!!
Love you Hayley!

Hello Katie. I will be quick to point out that I feel short changed everytime I receive at Katherine album. They are all rushed and therefore lack quality. I've said somewhere before that I love Katherine but there isn't really one of her albums that I like. I would like Katherine to take a risk with her music, try something new. Her albums are frustratingly safe. If an italian verion of 'I Will Always Love You' is as far as she will go I don't think we have anything else worth hearing from her. I completely agree with you here. I don't like the same renditions of the same classics over and over. Ave Maria, Pie Jesu, She Moved Through the Fair, Scarborough Fair, You'll Never Walk Alone, In Trutina are some to name a few (there are a lot more). I crave for originality from crossover artists. I like the odd reinvention of a song but mostly love original. It's why I loved 'Pure' so much. It had covers and renditions, but mostly they were not the conventional ones and there was original material on there. Sarah Brightman is an artist that mixes perfectly. Even when she renditions, a lot of the time it's very different from the originals. I do enjoy Hayley's version of Sarah's 'What You Ever Know'. Though I prefer Sarah singing it, Hayley's version is better. The original is far too repetitive and Hayley puts a break in between. Thank you, Hayley.

Katie Hi Katie and it's nice to see you posting here and it was good to meet you on Saturday at Cadogan Hall I think one big reason that Katherine can release albums more frequently than Hayley is that her career has been far more limited to one Country (the UK) than Hayley's career. This inevitably means that Hayley's releases have to be more spread out so she can travel to her main markets to promote them and also fit in some touring too. Looking back at Hayley's schedule over the last three years, it is hard to see how she could have found the time to release more new albums than she did... unless the record company had "cobbled together" something from unused tracks or remixes, which is something I'm glad they didn't do. Who's to know which approach is best for their respective long-term careers? Katherine has ended up being the more popular singer in the UK (though their total UK sales are still very close at the moment) but Hayley is more popular in most of the rest of the World. Katherine currently sells more albums in the UK but Hayley has done better everywhere else and is a long way ahead in total Worldwide album sales. But Hayley's approach must be an *expensive* high cost one, therefore more risky than Katherine's "safe" career path. Time will tell who made the best choice... perhaps they both did? It will be very interesting indeed to discover the mix of styles Hayley includes on her third international album but I suspect that it will not be too dissimilar from Odyssey. This will please me as I feel that good though Pure was, that type of very expensive to produce album for Hayley is now confined to history and she has almost inevitably moved on. I currently play Odyssey more than Pure. Cheers, Dave

Let's not forget that Katherine has released three full length albums and Hayley only two in the UK. And none of Katherine's albums have beat the genius of 'Pure'. Her albums are just not of the same quality, IMHO. Though, it's not really relevant to compare them. They both are completely different artists with different material and direction. Hayley experiments. Katherine doesn't. If they were both trying to do the same thing (branch out) then they could be comparable. I know one thing about them both though, and that is they both really good people who are consistently good with their fans.

I really appreciate the different versions of Ave Maria, especially the Caccini which I believe is also one of Hayley's favourites. I'm sure I've read or heard somewhere that Hayley wants to record the version with English lyrics that she sings as part of the Spiritual Medley on the DVD. I hope you won't mind if she includes this one on her new album as I think it's very unusual and quite beautiful. Best wishes Grant

Hi,
Interesting to hear all your thoughts. Certainly I wouldn't be upset if Hayley put another version of Ave Maria on her album. - I do love the Caccini version. Its a lovely song and thats why artists like to record it and people like to listen to it.
However, having just looked on my mp3 player I have 15 versions of Ave Maria. Probably have a stack load more in my cds. It seems its quite a safe option for artists to record. I'm all up for a bit more risky originality - which I admit sometimes works and sometimes doesn't!!
My opinion is that if an album is to be successful it has to be a mix of safe and original. Luckily Hayley's voice is very original so whatever she records is excellent and well on the way to success.
