Hi Steven, No, there was no other information given. I suspect that the tracklisting hasn't been decided yet although I'm sure they have an idea of the type of content they wish to go for. They may not want to give very much away (except in very general terms) until the recording session are over. But you never know, Hayley has been known to give a little clue in the past. If my personal guess counts, I would expect something in between the eclectic mix of Pure and the gentle (some would say bland) style of Odyssey. Only time will tell. Roger

Oh this is awesome news!!!! I can't wait to read about Hayley's song choices for this new album... my personal taste would have it less classical than Odyssey, and more along the lines of Pure!! But knowing Hayley, I'll probably love it no matter what it is, lol. Hugs, Tashi

Cheers! How wonderful! I agree w/ Tashi ...less classical than Odyssey, and more like Pure.
But whatever it is...I'll buy one, or two, or three! Perhaps during some of Hayley's upcoming appearances she will test out a new song or singing style.

I think you are right, that if it is a return to the "Pure" approach it willl meet with greater success, but no matter what it is I think we'll all still be there to support Hayley, I know I will, her kindness has earned at least some unconditional support.

Oh, wonderful news! Thanks, Roger! (and Steve) So we're getting a new album a bit early!! Can't wait!! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI have a feeling it will have some pure classical stuff on it, because I think Hayley has been into that recently. I have no objection to that!! However, the album being along the lines of Pure would be awesome. I think Sarah Class should write some more songs for Hayley!! (like Across the Universe of Time!)

I was just thinking- hey, with a new album Hayley may very well be a likely nomination for the Classical Brits 2007!!! Andrew Hi Andrew... nice try i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif but unfortunately, Hayley will miss the boat for the 2007 Classical Brits. The nominations will be the ten best selling *new* classical albums released in 2006 and I don't think Odyssey Special Edition will count as "new". We don't even know yet if next year's album will count as classical! The winner will, of course, be Katherine Jenkins. Only Hayley could have challenged her (again). Cheers, Dave Good reason for scheduling as they have. The Welsh will support Kathryn en masse on the simple principle of national pride from a nation that is probably, statistically, one of the most singing orientated nations in the world, as a nation. The odds are stacked against Hayley on general principle, nothing to do with whose best but who's Welsh--and I am not meaning to be unkind to Kathryn. Peter

Hello Roger and everybody! I can't work out how many days it is exactly until the 2008 Classical Brit awards, but I think it's just over 700! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifAndrew, I've just been listening to Hayley's interview with Aled Jones on BBC Radio Wales this morning, and it seems she will not now be taking a break in New Zealand in July, because "something has come up". I presume this is the Castles tour with Il Divo. Best Wishes, Richard That will disappoint the family, so, was it summer (winter for them, so possibly too short a time?) school holidays, to tie-in with Isaac and Sophie? So, how about family coming out to be with her and touring again, as they did last fall? What about Hayley touring as last Fall while recording her new record? Same country. Same ease of travel? Where's Benadetti during that period? Am I being too mischievous? Modified 29/10. Of course, Isaac and Sophie weren't with Hayley during the Fall last year, just Gerald and Jill swapping over but, unless a crucial time for school work a couple of weeks 'out of school' for career enhancement/work experience?! What some call 'bland' with Odyssey new edition I called 'easy listening' which some might define as 'wallpaper music'. Many people don't like silence. it frightens them. Normally I prefer to listen to music attentively not as background. On that score I think Odyssey performs a function to many people. Pure is sold on its introduction to 'Pokarekara Ana' and challenges with its contrasting 'Wuthering Heights', to OVER simplify the difference between the two. I think for the third she needs to go back to the Pure concept. Three or four key songs that will hold that core audience to which both Pure and Odyssey appeals and then to branch out. In which direction (or directions?) will be the challenge. That surely is the underlying debate as to what the third should include? In which direction(s) should she cshoose to further challenge her audience to wider interests. She likes to try different things. Why should she not take her audience into these new things with her? I agree entirely with that Fusilier. One backs the girl WHAT EVER she does, even if one totally disagrees with her! But, that loyalty, to be meaningful, needs also to be a realistic one. It is not a question of NOT criticising her as pacing the criticism to the right moment and in the right way to keep her confidence and assurance. That is true loyalty and between us all here we ought to be able to give her a fairly realistic and balanced review. Peter

I think Sarah Class should write some more songs for Hayley!! (like Across the Universe of Time!) Second that! Hopefully Sir George Martin will work with Sarah Class again on more songs on Hayley's new album, they seem to work well together creating another masterpiece like "Beat of Your Heart" The new album should be very interesting given Hayley's choice of music in recent revisions of Odyssey. Perhaps we'll see Hayley types of music we haven't heard before i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifAllen

Hi thats awesome news re New Album We are ready and waiting On our NZ version Water is Wide Please Haha i'm going round humming the little bit i've heard from the clips..Yeah thanks to Dave now i can hear the full version,Yes there is a huskyness to Hayley's voice. But awesome all the same. I'm sure Hayley will do just fine choosing the right songs. Re The family going over to Uk,now things have changed maybe they will ,although this year is an important school year for Sophie and i think only in the school holidays. I bet her parents are very disappointed they were so pleased that she was coming home when i spoke to them. I really hate to say it but i see in the future Nz will see Hayley ,even less than we do now. Please Don't over do it Hayley, We want to hear your awesome voice for many years to come. Twenty years of working with very few holidays has left me with a form of Cronic fatigue .My longest holiday would be the two fantastic weeks i spent in london last September. And remember what happened to Kim getting sick with Bells Palsy from over doing the acting singing etc with doing continuious rehearsals and shows as a 12 year old. These things just creep up on you , sorry for the small lecture but thats the mother in me coming out, re the Wales interview Wow wasn't Hayley impressed with the song that Aled picked from Kyra Dylan or what ever her name was (the Irish singer) I could almost hear hayley's mind Ticking over. Its a big yahoo from me re the new Album.

Hi Belinda.
Great to hear` from you again.
However passingly, I am glad to have met with you and Kim in London. Sounds like a real gathering of the HWI tribe at Cadagon Hall, Wiseley and later on at Newmarket. All three places I haven't been to before, hence my fitting in so much in so short a time.
I echo your thoughts for Hayley. I too am trying to pace myself out of chronic fatigue due to a stress-related illness caused by my father's ill health and being unable to take rest when I needed it due to his terminal illness. Once you've passed a certain point it is very difficult to recover and you cannot hurry time.
On the other hand, she is young. I was always doing half-a-dozen things at the same time right through my life until five years ago, when family affairs added the straw that was just too much.
You have a better understanding/familiarity with her than I but I think it is very difficult for anyone to advance think Hayley! One can only look at underlying principles that guide the detail. I suggest three influences will cause her to come back, perhaps 2008 at the latest?
1. She's a home-loving girl how ever happy she is in London and how much the practicality of living here is necessary for her career. 2. She won't forget it was NZ and her own people who made her. She knows that a 2-year gap is about as much as is fair to them and that will be what guides her timing for another tour. 3. Bringing this back on topic(!) we are talking here of the 3rd CD possibly being out late 2006, beginning 2007.That timing could tie-in with an NZ tour following her being there for 2006 Christmas for which I'm sure she would return home. Already being there, why not a January tour as this year launching the new CD?
Glad you got me going on this subject. I need to look at plans to cover these contingencies!
Certainly I am looking out for that, for I would like to visit NZ and it seems foolish to do so when Hayley isn't there and doing a concert cycle for me to slip into.
I would love to see her perform in her home town and share the atmosphere of her own home people around her and also see her in that lovely theatre in Wellington (St James?) where the DVD was made.
Yours aye for now. Best wishes to you and yours, Belinda.
Peter

Hi Belinda,
Sorry to hear that Kim fell ill a while back, Bell's palsy is no fun. I agree entirely with what you said regarding Hayley, that she shouldn't push it too hard, and I'm beginning to wonder if she is at this point.
Hayley, please, we love you but part of caring about someone is being willing to tell them they are overdoing it and you are concerned they might damage themselves in the process. The last thing you need is to push your voice to the point where you develop nodes or something like that, or your body to the point where you develop chronic fatigue, or your mind and spirit to the point where you become bitter and angry.
That said, when you do get around to this new album, even if you have to push it back to 2008, I hope you commit "Down In The River to Pray" to CD.

I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for Hayley's next album. I just can't wait to see what direction she has taken this time. Katherine has a new album released in November, so no doubt she will win the best album next year at Classical Brits. I love Katherine, I really do, but I don't think any of her albums has been worthy of the award. Out of all of her albums I listen to about three songs from all of them put together. They just seem rushed all the time. Don't get me wrong, I completely wave the Katherine Jenkins flag. In fact, I'm going to see her in concert in November at Reading. Anyone else going? What are everyone's hopes for the next album? I don't know... I think I just want something different. My main complaint with Odyssey was the lack of emotion. I hope Hayley has grown a little more as a person to sing some emotion and experience into her material. I have the UK edition of Odyssey and I hope there isn't as much classical in the next album as there was in that one.
