I think you have suggested an entire album there but hey, what a choice.

Of course, 'Time to Say Goodbye' or rather ' Con te partiro' has been recorded by Hayley. It was the opening track on her first ever album entitled 'Walking in the Air', recorded when she was 12. Sadly it was a limited issue of about 1000 copies and only ever intended for families and friends. It is highly unlikely that we will see it now.

You also mentioned 'Hoki Hoki Tonu Mai'. I am surprised that you know that one...... or have you by any chance got it sung by Yulia Townsend on her wonderful 'Into the West' CD? 'Ombra Mai Fu' appears on Yulia's album too. So does 'Bailero'! I'm beginning to think you have got it. If so, you could always talk about that on Yulia's sub-board.

Well, if you can persuade Hayley to record your entire list, I will definitely by it.

Alot of the songs I knew of when I was young. The frist person that I heard do 'Ombra Mai Fu' was not Yulia. I like Handel . Bailero I love this song I so many cds that have it by two favs of it on yulia's and KJ. I have odd tease in music for someone my age. Well I have always been like this. Hoki Hoki Tonu Mai I frist heard of this from Yulia cd but than I was like I heard this before which is odd because I am from the US.

I find it odd how I did not think of any showtures that I would like Hayley to do as I realy like showtures. And I do not know if on my own would fit here voice as it is a belting song.

Crystal and I were listening to pieces from "Phantom of the Opera" and we heard "Angel of Music" which we immediately fell in love with!

I think this would be a great song for Hayley and Sophie to sing. Oddly enough, Hayley has brown hair (doesn't she? hard to tell with all these color changes!) and Sophie has blonde hair like Christine and Meg. A video of this would be interesting 2!

Hayley's take on "Fields of Gold" would also be interesting...

I think another great song for Hayley would be "Yesterday." Eva Cassidy sang that and I think it would be lovely on her voice!

I would love to hear her do Lascia Ch'io Pianga, Tell Me On A Sunday, Dust in the Wind, Scarborough Fair and The Water is Wide; but most of all, I want to hear her do Moon River.

That's one of my all-time favourite songs, and Hayley would do it perfectly.

Galway Bay (another well-known Celtic piece)
At the End of the Day (a somewhat 50ish religious song frequently played in those days as radio stations were ending transmission, thanking God for one more day complete)
Precious Lord, Take My Hand (a gospel song written in the 1930s following the death of the author's wife and child, also the favorite hymn of Dr. Martin Luther King)
St. Patrick's Breastplate Prayer (sung to the tune of "Morning Has Broken")

The Battle Hymn of the Republic (well-known in the US, Hayley could really soar were it orchestrated right)

I'd certainly go along with you for that song Steven, you've just brought back one of my earliest childhood memories of music... or anything! At The End of The Day (by Steve Conway) was played at the end of Radio Luxembourg's daily transmissions to the UK waaaaay back in the 1950s and 1960s when it was the ONLY pop music station you could receive in the UK. Transmission was on the AM (medium wave) band and after dark, there was a lot of fading and some distortion but for kids starved by the BBC of real pop music, it was a wonderful thing!

To digress slightly, that is in fact where I developed my quirky but insatiable appetite for music charts - I would listen secretly in my room after bedtime to the Top Twenty show every Sunday night... mentally jnoting the ups downs and new entries. After that finished around midnight (sometimes an hour later) they played.... At The End Of the Day and I always stayed awake to listen to it. If Hayley ever records THAT song, I will be not only on cloud nine but over the moon and no doubt Mars as well for the foreseeable future, oh the memories! You have just won my personal award for "Post of the Month!"

Well, I'm a little stunned. Actually the first I heard of that song was by Daniel O'Donnell on PBS. I bought the CD when I was in Ireland and listen to it fairly regularly, but the recording you provided there is all the more lovely for being a "period" recording, distortion, Lanza-esque backing, and all.

I hope Hayley obliges and grants you your wish, it is certainly a nice and positive song, and I think it would fit her voice very well and bring back good memories for her European fans.

Steve Conway died in 1952 at age 31, at the peak of his career. He recorded "Mona Lisa" years before Nat King Cole.
