Hello Marcus! I like your new signature too. As I've said before, the pictures of Hayley in members' avatars and signatures greatly enhance the appearance of our forum. Best wishes, Richard

Hi Folks,
by folks i mean all members and users in particular,
I scan the members who have visited in the past 24 hours line every time I visit just to see who is still around.
I assume some of our members read the forum on a regular basis but don't LOGIN. Many of our members have met one another at various concerts in various countries, I sometimes wonder if you guys are all OK, people I have not heard from in ages who have not posted or even logged in for quite a while.I understand that many people go through various phases in their lives, illnesses and various personal tradgedies.
could I ask you when you visit the forum if you log in sometimes we know you are still there, even if you don't post anything.

Dunno Paul. Fans come and go. People who discover Hayley's music, then move on. But there are also the "lifers". You and I among them. Those who are so taken with Hayley that we know we will always want to know about whatever she does and will always be there for her. I think that is just the way it is. For me, Hayley is the finest and most talented singer I have ever heard in my lifetime. I really don't want to move on, and since my early life was so like hers, I can understand the sacrifices she made for her art. I know how it feels to be a young person all alone working in a foreign country. I know how it feels to be ripped away from family and friends. And to never be in one place long enough to put down roots. To be honest, she coped with it a lot better than I did. Some folk will discover hayley, explore her music for a while, then move on. Some like us, want to thank her for the joy that she has given us. And know that there is much more too come if we stick with her.

Hi Paul and Martin. I'm merely speculating, of course, but it's also possible that some former members are still very much committed to their Hayley fandom, but simply don't use their computers much, or have stopped for some reason. I don't use my own computer too much, but it's very easy for me to keep up with the forum because I can access it from my phone, which is always by my side. Not sure if my theory makes any sense, but I know that if I only visited HWI from my PC, I would be on much less

Oh, same for me! I may get to get on HWI once a month from my PC, so 98% of the work I do here is off my iPod touch. I guess it's just more convenient (and my parents don't snoop). -Taylor i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

I use an iPhone so we've pretty much got the same exact HWI experience. I find it much easier than using the computer: I can check no matter where I am or what I'm doing (within reason), I'm using the same device for any other social media that Hayley might be a part of, and auto-correct has made me its unfortunate slave -Rory

Well, I don't own a smartphone. I have a simple pay as you go mobile, which I hardly ever use. £20 credit lasts a year. Perhaps only on holiday to keep in touch with family. I consider the telephone to be the invention of the devil, since its main function seems to be to interrupt whatever important thing I am doing with trivia, like trying to sell me something I don't want. So everything I do here is from a PC. I have four of them at home (well one is an Iyonix, but don't worry if you don't know what that is). Plus numerous others at work. I have a dongle that is supposed to give me internet access through the mobile phone network. It is expensive and horribly slow. So I don't use it if I can help it.

That's why I think some members might not be on too often, Martin. I'm guessing that you are not the only HWI member without a smartphone, and it's possible that some people could abandon their computers, and thus, without the convenience of a smartphone-type device, the forum as well

This also brings up a question that's plagued me for some time: I always leave HWI as one of my open tabs on the Safari browser on my phone, so does that mean that I always appear as "online?"

Dunno Rory. Me, I look several times a day. When it suits me. That is the great thing about the internet. You read your messages when it suits you, not when somebody else rudely interrupts you. I don't even like calling people, since I fear I might be interrupting something more important that they are doing. Telephones should be reserved for emergencies. Anything else is just an annoyance.

That's why I like texting. Although it's often perceived to be even more annoying or 'zombifying' than calling, it actually suits the situation you described of the Internet. You can reply to a text on your time, and it makes communication easier IMO

Hiya, Paul! Just letting you know that I'm still around. I hate being on lists, last 24 hours included, so you won't find me there too often, unless something's buzzing on HWI. So, post something interesting ..... Even after more than 40, I'm looking forward to Hayley's next concert, hopefully not too far away. See you there. Paddy

Thanks Folks, Yes Rory, You do appear to be "Online" a lot. I know a lot of HWI members are very much present on Facebook and Twitter, but I find both of them to be hard work. Aye Paddy, there's a few lists I'd rather not be on too. The house tax list is just one of them Our government is trying to draw water from an empty well
