I noticed yesterday that the 'users on line' area was blank. Looks like it's now had a memory lapse as it's currently showing
Users Online Today There have been 23 users online in the past 24 hours. akito, Belinda, Dave, Dori, drew, eugene, fusilier23, graemek, grant, jimg, Joe , Libby, milewalker, petertong, Richard, Roger, Ross, Oksana , Stephany, Steve H, stevemacdonald, Mark, tinmeigut
According to Joe, the ProBoards server which handles the code for "members online today" was down yesterday. All seems to be working now but it will not display the full list until it has been restored for a full 24 hours.
Nothing in life is perfect - and I thank God for that. When we say that something is perfect we are also saying that there can be no growth because any change must be for the worse. In the end, it is our errors which declare and affirm our humanity.
This morning I was logged into the forum for about fifty minutes, but my name wasn't showing when I logged out at around 9:30am. I see from Grant's post that my name did appear later, and it's there now, so the information probably won't be accurate until the function has been restored for 25 hours.
There isn't any way of guaranteeing its reliability but, according to the TrafficFile statscounter (currently displaying 188076) there have been exactly 200 visitors since 10:30pm last night (when I took the previous reading). Whenever I looked at Users Online this morning, it usually showed anything between 5 and 10 and sometimes less. Assuming they each stayed online for a reasonable time, it would take a fairly significant burst of activity to achieve 200 (which I believe is fairly accurate). Therefore, 101 at one time certainly sounds possible.
No stats counter is ever 100 per cent reliable but it is a good indicator. If it is not accurate, one would hope it was consistently not accurate! That would still give a fairly accurate trend. Er, I think!
Wow, just now when I was loading the page, I was told that the server was busy and that I should try again 30 seconds later! It was the first time I encountered this since my joining HWI. Surely we're having a busy day today!
