Hi everyone, It became apparent last night that not everybody realises it is possible to receive an automated email which advises that you have received a Private Message on the forum. If you wish to take advantage of this facility, please go to your Private Messages Inbox. Near the top-right corner, click on "preferences" and you will see this question:. NotificationDo you wish to have an email sent to you when a private message is received? Change "No" to "Yes" and then click the "Save Preferences" button. Whenever you receive a PM from then on, an automated email will be sent to the email address in which you account is set up. Please ensure that it is current! Roger

Hello Roger and Grant! I've known about the function for a long time, but I've never used it. I always spot any new PMs straight away when I log into the forum, so personally I don't see any advantage. Best Wishes, Richard

Hi Richard, For me, there is a huge advantage. I am not necessarily looking at the forum throughout the time I am online. However, I like to see PMs as soon as possible and the only way I can guarantee that is to receive email notifications. Then again, as some of your incoming PMs are from me, I can understand you not being in any hurry to read them! Roger

Richard, It is an advantage if you don't want to sign in all the time and just lurk . I personally don't find i have to post every time i come to the forum, You can know you have a message and if its from Roger you may briefly think OMG what have i done Belinda
