Hi Paddy, hi Comet. Thats quite comical you two,
Your girls couldn't be further apart if they tried.
Very roughly speaking around 5000 Kms from each other.
Are they likely to come anywhere near us?
We're 110 Kms South of Sydney.

Hi Graeme.
'Looks like the two ladies are unlikely to meet up!
Australia is such a vast area!
Maeve was in Sydney from 23rd to 27th October.
Then Brisbane, now Cairns.
Later, Melbourne, Ayers Rock and Perth.
Then leaves her 'fella' behind (with his uncle)
and comes back home to Daddy.
My oldest daughter was in Australia too from 2004 to 2005
Thankfully, she came back to Daddy too.
'Great to be young!

Hi Graeme again,
Sorry! Didn't see your additions to your earlier post (about accents) until now.
'Never really tried the German myself - but always intended to!
Too many compound words to get the tongue around.
Like you and the German, I'd have to listen closely to catch the Irish spoken in Ulster (in the north).
Quite different accent and they pronounce words differently and speak very fast.
Even the English spoken in Ireland sounds quite different from county to county.
My wife has a noticeably different accent to mine
and we both came from the same county (only opposite sides of it).
No doubt, It's similar in Australia.
I find it hard to understand the English spoken by some Australians I know.
Very 'musical' accent to listen to though.
Maybe we won't find it easy to understand each other,
if we ever manage to meet at one of Hayley's concerts.
Any Irish ancestors yourself?
Paddy
