Hi Martin, Starting a riot in the front row of a packed out concert hall is not exactly my idea of a good night out The whole exchange was all very civilized, It was discussed and a course of action agreed, I certainly did not feel I was being bullied, The security lad was very pleasant, explained his side and politely asked me to delete the pictures, I agreed, so as not to cause a scene, After the concert I chatted with him for a while with and I think it was he who eventually saved Karsten's pictures from being deleted and I suspect Karsten's pictures will be better than mine anyway, He also apologised to me for having to ask me to delete the pictures he was given orders from above, he had to do what he had been asked to do, Nuff said.

I'm not sure where we stand on circumstances similiar to Comet's, but I know that when on public property, you don't have to show your photographs to security/police etc.
They cannot force you to delete photographs or stop photographing. If they want to see your photographs, they will have to arrest you, in turn you can sue them for doing so.

We've been through this dance already. The little hitch here is that most of these theaters are privately owned, and as such, they can set their own rules. However, the only thing they can do in the UK and Ireland, apparently, is warn you, then eject you. Even given this relatively mild sanction, I don't think getting ejected is comet's idea of a good night out, though I don't know him. However, he states he was looking to avoid causing a secne, and that was probably for the best, I really don't think causing a scene would have been in anyone's best interest.

I did not read the small print on the ticket before we went into the Concert Hall.. One of "us" read paragraph 1 and understood it to mean we COULD take photographs or record the concert by any means. but NOT use flash photography ..! It did cross my mind "That is unusual" The left hand paragraph is the piece removed from your ticket as you enter the door....... I was making no attempt to hide the camera. It was on top of my leg and I was completely exposed in the front row about 3 or 4 metres away from Hayley. I was covering the screen so as not to disturb others behind me. The Power light on the camera was also covered and the auto focus beam was switched off. The front surfaces of the camera have been painted matt black so as not to reflect light and distract the performer. But I imagine, occasionally the lens may catch and reflect some light.

Dedicated fan Tim came all the way from the US for the Dublin and Limerick concerts. Hayley signs a poster (Given by the very kind and polite staff of the UCH Limerick ) for Tim after the concert. . .

Hi Comet
Well, they're not oversized. They're actually quite small. Maybe your computer is just showing them in their original size? Because it's fine from my laptop!

Hi Tim,Did Hayley finally come out after the Limerick Concert? I had to run to catch a cab and missed her. Oh well we all saw her before the Concert. I really had a good time with all you great folks. Although both concerts were the same it was still wonderful. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you and more HWI members in the future. I think Hayley will use the Tee shirt for a night shirt. I think see was pleased to get it . I got a thrill giving it to her. Larry

Hi All, just came in from my journey to ireland. I just loaded my pictures into my computer, and will post some later. This was a wonderful concert, in fact exactly the same as the evening before, in Dublin.........the only difference, the second half.............Hayley wore the orange dress in Dublin, and the Celtic green one in Limerick. Thanks to Paddy, for driving us to Limerick!! Thanks to Paul and Glenda for driving us back to Dublin! Thanks to the HWI members for your company. Thanks to Hayley, and the RTE orchestra for a wonderful show!
Best wishes and greetings JOYCE.

Hi Paul, Joyce & Larry
Thanks for your reports and photo's. Oh what a shame about the photo's - it is quite unusual though and quite obviously, Hayley has no problem with it. Why is it if the artist has no problem, that the venue does ?? What does it matter to them ?
Anyway, it sounds as if you had a great time and I am looking forward to seeing waht ever photo's you did manage to take between you.
Best wishes Mark

Yes, I don't understand this problem with photos in most cases, Yes, there might be some where the videos/photos of the concert will be sold as a commercial product later, (such as iTunes KOKO) where such restrictions are understandable. And the use of flash too, can distract artists, and so should be prohibited. But if you can take photos without flash, and no commercial interests are threatened, then I don't know why there should ever be a problem.

Martin I do agree but I think Itunes KOKO is a bad example (as they recorded it and did nothing with it), I think Live from NZ would be a better choice
