Hello everybody! It was another amazing concert at Cannizaro Park in Wimbledon yesterday evening. I met up with Graham in good time to hear Hayley's soundcheck, which lasted about two hours! Hayley was clearly in good voice, and she recognised us and gave us a big wave even though we were about 150 yards away at the time. At 7:30pm the gates were opened, and Graham very kindly saved me a good position in the picnic area, right in front of Hayley's microphone, while I handed out flyers to the rest of the audience. The concert was very nearly a sell-out, but there was some room left in the picnic area. Hayley was accompanied by the Pavão Quartet, (four very attractive young ladies on strings), Al Gurr on piano and Andy Moore on guitar. She made eye contact with both of us at regular intervals during the performance, so I tried to note down the set list while she wasn't looking. First HalfPokarekare Ana Ave Maria (Caccini) Scarborough Fair Prayer Pavão QuartetMedley including Old Man River, Moon River and Clair de Lune Shenandoah Both Sides Now Danny Boy Second HalfPavão QuartetUnidentified piece A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square In Trutina Songbird The Water Is Wide May It Be Santa Lucia Lascia Ch'io Pianga Hine E Hine EncoresSonny (at the piano) Amazing Grace Pokarekare Ana Hayley wore her favourite green dress in the first half, and the orange/pink dress in the second. As you can see, she treated us to three encores, finishing with a reprise of Pokarekare Ana which was requested by a group of New Zealanders in the audience. Hayley was in magnificent form throughout the concert, and she had the whole audience spellbound. It was the first time she had performed with the Pavão Quartet, which could explain why the soundcheck took so long. You can read more about them on MySpace HERE. There was no signing afterwards, so Graham and I waited for Hayley in the artists' car park. After about twenty minutes a very happy Hayley appeared and she was clearly expecting to see us. We chatted for about five minutes, and I presented her with a special gift to remind her of her visit to Wimbledon - a CD of Wimbledon's musical heritage. OK, it was by the Wombles, but Hayley was delighted. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI then showed Graham the way out to his car, and he gave me a lift to the bus stop. Unfortunately we didn't take any photographs, but I hope I've given you all a taste of another truly memorable evening with Hayley. Best Wishes, Richard

Thanks for the report, Richard. That is a very impressive set list. I'm sure she has never sung seventeen songs before, I don't remember an event where we got three encores and I'm sure she has never done a reprise by request. I reckon they must have liked her!
Thank you for giving out the flyers!
Roger

Hi Richard Thanks very much for your report. We did tell Hayley on Sunday to look out for you, well actually, she asked if anyone would be there It certainly was an impressive set list, with three encores !! You must have been a good audience i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Once again, it was lovely that Hayley came out for a word after the show, we are always very appreciative of her thoughtfulness. I must say, that I also was treated to some Hayley eye contact on Sunday and I'm sure that I was not the only one. For those few seconds, it makes you feel so special doesn't it So pleased you had a great time and well done on getting out the ROD flyers. See you soon. Regards Mark

Hello Grant! Hayley didn't really come looking for us, but I think she knew where we'd be waiting for her. See you this afternoon, Richard

Hi Everyone, I am just getting back to normal after my three week excursion and then my son and family staying with us ( They use the room with the computer ! ) It is therefore the first chance I have had to post in this thread since the concert. Maybe it is was the setting with the glorious Summer evening but as Richard has said it was a fantastic concert. I have now been to 4 Hayley concerts this year. Buxton must remain my favourite; my first Hayley concert; and Hayley's 21st etc but for quality of performance alone Cannizaro was easily the best ! I had a trouble free car journey into Wimbledon and with Richard putting me on the right road out an equally good return journey, not bad for fairly central London. I enjoyed Richard's company before the event and with only the two of us after the Concert the 'Hayleymeet' was equally special . ( Yes Grant it is a special moment when Hayley gets to know your name ! ) As can therefore be seen it was a really memorable night in every respect ! Oh well; I will just have to have two equal favourite Hayley events then ! Graham
