Thanks for all the magnificent photographs, Grant and Karsten! Welcome to the forum, Carol, and thanks for posting the links to Todd's videos. The duet of 'All I Ask Of You' was a particularly stunning performance. Best Wishes, Richard

Thank you for the welcome, Grant and Richard. I must admit I have seen Hayley perform many times and have met her also a number of times - indeed had a drink in a pub with her some time ago!!! (ssssh - don't tell anyone!) And I have actually met some of you before..... But I am primarily an Aled fan and it has been lovely to read the postive comments about him on here! Just one point to mention - I have never seen Aled use sheet music before, it really is not usual! But as I think I said at Lincoln, it was amazing that he was there at all - matinee and evening peformances in Chitty in Cardiff on Saturday, drive to Manchester to present Good Morning Sunday from 7.00 - 9.00, then to Lincoln, then he left immediately to go back to London to present the Terry Wogan Show Monday morning, then back to Cardiff to be back on stage Monday evening! -so hopefully he can be forgiven for any slight "less than perfect" performance! I wonder when they fitted in rehearsals?! Aled's performances are always, in my opinion, deeply moving, he really sings from the heart. And it has been lovely to read that you found the same. There are two more Aled Lincoln performances on Youtube -"If" and "The Rose" - but I am afraid Todd could not video the solo Hayley performances, his camera - well, I am not remotely technical so I'll just say it could not cope and hope you understand! But it is great to have the duets, for some of us to reminisce, for others to share our good fortune at being there. You have some great photos up on here - may I ask those photographers of the Aled ones if I can transfer them to the Aled fanclub (if Todd, the fanclub owner, would like them) and to classicalx (where I am Aled's Artist Supporter - they will be credited of course)? I could also add that Todd's videos have been transferred to classicalx (or Ave Maria has so far, probably the other later) both under Hayley's site and Aled's. For some reason the one on Hayley's site has been way underscored! I would like to suggest some of you pop over and give it 5 stars to try and redress this! (and pop into the Aled site and give him 5stars too please!) The web address is: www.classicalx.comYes,it was a really great evening in fabulous surroundings - Hayley said it was one of the loveliest places she has sung. We all hope they will go back there together one day! Carol I made the link to ClassicalX clickable. Richard

Many thanks to Grant, Karsten, Martin George and all who posted photos and wrote reports. I have just re-read the last 10 pages of thread and looked at the photos again and a very enjoyable couple of hours it was. The time and effort by all of you was well spent. So many wonderful photos showing all aspects of the day. I particularly liked Martin's shot of Hayley and George and the subsequent resulting photo posted by George. To me they show, once again, what a star Hayley is offstage. Had I had to edit the photos it would have taken me at least a week and I probably would not have included Grants shot of Hayley and Alanda that is a favorite with Dean. I do not know the answer to your problem Steve but I don't think vetting would work particularly when there are three or so concerts in a week as will happen on the ROD tour. Vetting might also discourage someone who is later the only photographer at a concert.
Regards
Jim

Hello everyone Here is a sequence of pictures taken, I think, during the orchestral piece at the end of "May It Be". I wonder what Hayley is thinking? I wonder what will happen next on Coronation Street

Ahh! But Comet, Hayley's thought process runs through all 6 images!
It looks to me as though she pondered something and came to a conclusion, hence the smile at the end!
Best wishes Grant

Hi Jim and thank you for your kind words but I don't think vetting would work particularly when there are three or so concerts in a week as will happen on the ROD tour. Vetting might also discourage someone who is later the only photographer at a concert. I have entered and judged many photographic competitions in my time and it's far from an easy job. Vetting of images is something we do all the time with our own work - what is shown on the forum is ultimately down to individual choice. We're always looking to offer that 'special something' but it won't always happen. As far as Lincoln is concerned, only a fraction of, I guess, more than 2000 images taken will eventually be posted. As for the one of Hayley and Alanda walking out, I included that for its uniqueness. Best wishes Grant

Did any of you take any video clips of the sound check ?
These are often more fascinating than video of the concert itself, revealing more about the work that goes into the finished product. ie. the concert

Hi Grant,
I was not criticizing the photo just trying to illustrate that what one person puts at the top of a list another may put somewhat further down. I agree about judging not a job I would relish.

It is a truely candid shot, and it shows something of the nuts-and-bolts work that goes on behind the glamour and public parts of a concert like this. If any of these photos were to be entered in a photography competitition and be likely to win, that one, IMO, is the one. I could be completely wrong again, but to me it's a gem of a photo.
