Hi Karsten and everyone going to this concert. Are there already suggestions for a meeting point and a meeting time ? I've just had a look through this thread to refresh my memory! The castle grounds are quite small which is perhaps why, we will not be able to go in until 6.15pm. It's also a Bank Holiday weekend and Lincoln is a popular destination so parking could be difficult. It may be that Westgate will be reserved for concert parking which would be helpful. I'm wondering whether we should perhaps aim to get there earlier - say 4.00/4.30pm and eat before we go in. What does everyone think? I think I may take a ride over on the train in the next couple of weeks to check out the lie of the land. Incidentally, if you type in 'Lincoln Castle' on Google maps and click on 'satellite' you will be able to see the castle grounds and the position of the stage for a previous event. Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant,
Thanks for your proposal. 4 pm would be fine for me - perhaps in front of the Castle gate ?
Looking forward to the HWI gathering and the concert with a surely rousing finale again.
Three weeks and seventy minutes left...
Cheers, Karsten

I'm glad you are sorting this out early. I expect to get back from Australia on 23rd, and will have a lot of catching up to do on HWI and elsewhere. But I am looking forward to seeing Hayley again on 24th. And this time Sue will be with me, she likes Aled a lot (to be fair, she likes Hayley too).
Hi Karsten,
I see from your number of posts that you must like me have achieved Maestrohood recently. And nobody noticed. So congratulations from me at least. I look forward to a lot more fabulous photos from you.
Martin

ADVISORY FOR TRAVELLERS For anyone intending to travel to Lincoln by rail for this concert be advised that Lincoln Central Railway Station appears to be closed for most of August. Anyone travelling will be required to change at either Gainsborough, Lincoln or Sleaford onto the rail replacement bus service. This could add up to one hour to your journey time. Best wishes Grant

Hi everyone, Sadly I won't be able to come to this concert, a friend of mine who had to travel with me had a car accident last month, he's fine but the car is totally destroyed and he can't travel now. I'm so sad for this unexpected situation, I hope to see Hayley and everyone next winter. All I can say to everyone going to Lincoln is to have fun, to enjoy the concert until the last minute and to do as many photos as possibile. I can't wait to see them. Emil

Hi Emil,
So sorry to hear your bad news. Hope your friend is ok.
Maybe Ryanair has a cheap flight from an airport near you?
Best wishes,
Paddy

Hi Paddy, My friend is allright thanks. I don't know about the flight, but we planned a holiday in UK and almost any chance to do it is gone now.. But it's ok, I'm now thinking about a new journey next winter, possibly after the graduation. And this time I will not miss Hayley. Emil

Hi Emil,
Sorry to hear you won't be there. I hope to be, although I have to go to Australia and back before it happens, hopefully getting back to the UK on the day before. This is a business trip, and I told my boss that if there is any chance I would not be back in time to see Hayley, I wouldn't go. It will be nice to see Sydney, but I have my priorities. This is despite having already sen Hayley perform three times this year. With Hayley, every performance is important, and I can quite understand why so many of our members who can do so go to so many concerts where she sings mostly the same songs. Every one is special and every one is memorable. I have been a regular concert goer for over 40 years, and to my mind there has never been anyone like Hayley.

Hello everyone attending this one.
I've found a JD Weatherspoons on Silver Street, about a ten minute walk from the Castle (post code is LN2 1DY if anyone wants to 'Google' it)
On the basis that I think we should be at the venue no later than 5pm to ensure getting a reasonable position, I would suggest eating about 4pm.
On that basis, what does everyone think about meeting at the castle entrance at 3.30pm?
Let me know what you think.
Best wishes Grant
P.S. Mark, I can't remember whether or not you booked for this one
