Different Voices
Debbie Wiseman Conductor/Composer Hayley Westenra Vocals Stephen Fry Narrator
Programme: Debbie Wiseman Different Voices
Different Voices is a magical family concert narrated by Stephen Fry and featuring a wonderful score composed and conducted by Debbie Wiseman. Different Voices introduces its audience to the sections of the orchestra by combining music with illustrations projected onto a big screen. When a beautiful park is threatened by an evil developer the different groups of children who use the park, (represented by strings, percussion, brass and woodwind), come together in harmony to save their precious place. The highlight of the concert is the Different Voices song with lyrics by Don Black, which will be performed by Hayley Westenra.

Well spotted Drew. Tickets are already on sale for this event (see cadoganhall.com). It's not yet clear how many songs Hayley will be performing and it's a very early start (2.30pm). Martin

Roger will always tell you that, the concert is not confirmed until he receives confirmation from Steve Abbott.
I had a few minutes with Hayley outside Westminster Abbey yesterday afternoon and raised the subject of the "Different Voices" project.
Hayley had indeed prepared some demo tracks for the project but she was unaware of the performance on 9th April.
Hayley was hoping to be at home for her birthday (10th April).
Somebody has got something wrong although Cadogan Hall do not usually make mistakes.
Anyone thinking about buying tickets might consider waiting for Roger (and Bedlam's) blessing!
Happy birthday Hayley, wherever you are.

Thank you, Drew, for pointing out the need to await for confirmation from Steve before assuming that publicised events are definitely going to happen. People have been caught out by that in the past and we try to keep the possibility to a minimum.
We also assume events are confirmed if they are listed on the official site or, of course, if Hayley tells us herself.
We will certainly publish news of this (and any other event) as soon as we receive confirmation.
Roger

Since logic would dictate (not necessarily, she may want complete switch out) that then would be a good time for her NZ promoitonal tour for the third CD! Peter S.

Thanks for that Drew. Bearing in mind your recent transport problems it's worth pointing out to travelling fans that it's a bank holiday (Easter Monday) so the trains will be iffy. Think I'll probably give it a miss if she's only singing one or two songs. I thought there was going to be a Christmas concert in London ? Thought we might have heard about it by now.

Hello everyone, Hayley's Manager Steve has now confirmed Hayley's involvement in "Different Voices" as stated on the Cadogan Hall websiteHayley's main involvement will be the song she will perform, "Different Voices" although she may also pop up at other times but it may only be briefly; we just don't know at the moment. I'd better go and make a 2007 schedule thread now... Cheers, Dave

As Hayley's attendance is now confirmed and on the eve of her birthday it might be a good opportunity to wish her a very happy birthday. I wondered if any of our Administrators (or Moderators) have any suggestions that would be in keeping with HWI?
Best Wishes Martin

Thanks for the reminder, Martin! Taking the time difference into account, it will already be Hayley's birthday in New Zealand. Best Wishes, Richard

Hi All, I received my Spring 2007 copy of the Cadogan Hall Concert Programme through the post today. Here is a scanned image of the 'Different Voices' article featured within it. Incidentally, this is probably one of the last- if not the last advertisment we will see with Hayley described as, "teen singing sensation Hayley Westenra" because (as previously mentioned) Hayley's 20th birthday is 10th April, 2007, which is the day after this event takes place... aww! Regards, Andrew

Hi Richard Could you also check out the prices next week as they appear to be higher than on Andrew's programme.
Best Wishes Martin

Will do, Martin! I expect Cadogan Hall's website hasn't been updated for a while because of the Christmas period. Richard
