Hi Roger and Meldy
I too await word from the master.....however I have a distinct impression that Celtic Treasure has underperformed her previous releases almost everywhere, her sales in the US possibly being marginally better - but nowhere near enough to offset the dropoff in other markets.

Jon, I think you are right - apart from NZ. The main reason is Hayley's participation in the US CW tour, I think. We won't know the NZ result until the inevitable Special Edition is released for Christmas and that should give it a boost of an extra platinum or so. It's much the same in the UK, from where Hayley disappeared just after the release date of Treasure. There will probably be a Special Edition there too but it is unlikely to enable it to catch up with the Odyssey sales total. Of course, Treasure may get a nice boost when West Side Story is released but how much that will be remains to be seen. Jekyll doesn't seem to have had much of an impact on Treasure sales - very little of the actual theme song is heard in it and Hayley's voice is used as an instrument in the main programme. We should be discussing this in the Official Charts thread. Cheers, Dave

Hello everyone, I think Hayley has enough involvement in West Side Story for us to discuss its Chart performance in the main Hayley threads so... here we go. West Side Story is currently: No. 1 in the HMV UK Specialty Preorder Chart No. 7 in the Amazon UK Prerelease Albums (all albums) No. 106 overall at Amazon UK. So far... so good! But Amazon still have the release date wrong! Cheers, Dave

Hi everyone, Not sure I'm in the right topic but 'Celtic Treasure' is still listed as one of Walmart's top sellers in the World music category. Celtic Woman is also highly advertised on their website HERE (or see capture below in case the page disappears). I would be curious to know if Hayley is doing well in the US. Best wishes, Stephany

Hayley who? Seriously, she may be doing better with Celtic Treasure than she has done in the past, but if this is the case it is still below the radar.

By chance (I actually clicked the wrong link in my bookmarked sites!) I found myself looking at Amazon UK's Bestsellers. I was delighted to find Pure was at No 13. Looking further down the list, Treasure is at 21 and Odyssey at 35. Paul Potts is currently No 1, and All Angels at No 16. Roger - not listed

Hi Roger & Dave, today (sun) I stopped off on my way home to pickup Hayley's new book. I had a look in Sounds CD's and Treasure is at # 10. Not sure if this is the NZ special edition or not, but she is still hanging in there. It will be interesting to see just where in the charts she is next week. I couldn't find you listed here either Roger but then, didn't you give Hayley your guitar sometime back? cheers i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRodders

Hi Dave and everyone, I don't know if the following ranking is relevant but the Sunday Times has published a 'bestselling classical albums records of the year' and Hayley is #4. 5 VARIOUS Classic FM At the Movies -The Sequel ( Classic FM) 6 KATHERINE JENKINS Second Nature (UCJ) 7 BLAKE Blake (UCJ) 8 RUSSELL WATSON The Voice - The Ultimate Collection (Decca) 9 KATHERINE JENKINS Premiere (UCJ) 10 KATHERINE JENKINS Living a Dream (UCJ)
Stephany

Thank you for that, Stephany. I noticed that, apart from one on Classic FM's own label, they are all either UCJ or Decca, both of whom are part of Universal Music. The likes of EMI and Sony don't get a mention! Right, now for the analysis. There are 80 members of the Fron. That makes them a compilation so they don't count! KJ has three albums so is disqualified for multiple entries! By Decca's own admission, Pavarotti is a collection of previously recorded tracks which is cheating. All of which makes Hayley the winner! Hurray! Roger

Hello Roger! I believe Classic FM's own label is part of the Universal Music Group too. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifEdit: Classic FM's own label seems to have switched to the Universal Music Group very recently. 'Classic FM At The Movies - The Sequel' is on the Sony BMG label. Richard

Treasure is currently no. 20 in the Amazon UK classical chart... which is probably lower than it should be because it is out of stock! so Southampton isn't the only sold out sign up this week! However, you can still buy it from HMV Dave

There have been some nice little boosts already in the Amazon charts following last night's Classical BRITS show on ITV, and the Hayley-Jonathan duet. Yesterday, all their albums were well out of the top 1,000 overall (out of the top 40 classical in Hayley's case) but now, they are up to:
Hayley Treasure - no. 355 (no. 13 Classical) Pure - no. 517 (no. 22 Classical) Odyssey - no. 746 (no. 32 Classical)
Jonathan Tenor at the Movies - no. 602.
Interestingly, Hayley seems to have benefited more than Jonathan, which may reflect Hayley's greater appeal to a "classical" audience in the UK. But large sales will only result if Supermarkets etc. can be persuaded to re-stock with these albums, this week or next, and that is far from certain.

Hello everyone, I thought it was about time I mentioned "Hayley Sings Japanese Songs" in one of the charts threads, as it's now 6 days since the album was released in Japan and the first official chart since then is due out tomorrow. As I mentioned in the album thread itself, it reached the top 10 of the main Amazon.jp rankings late last week but these are of course only a rough guide and they are sometimes very much over-optimistic (for example, if a popular album is not generally available to buy in High Street shops). However, we are lucky with Japan, because as in the UK, their official charts company (Oricon) publish daily "midweek" charts (top 10 only) so if an album is a big-seller, it's possible to guage its overall progress before the weekly official chart is published. Weekly sales are counted from Monday to Sunday inclusive and published the following Wednesday. The downside of using daily charts in an album's first week of release is that the release day is Wednesday so when the first weekly chart is published a week later, the first week's Monday and Tuesday will have no sales so the final position is usually lower than indicated by the daily charts. Also, 700 shops (out of 3,000) who send in their sales reports by fax are not included in the daily charts. Having said that, the daily charts still give us the best guide we have - usually better than using Amazon.jp alone. So where are we now? Well there are now five Oricon daily top ten charts available, four of which are from last week: the album positions are as follows: Day 1 - Out of Top 10 Day 2 - 10 Day 3 - 8 Day 4 - 8 And the latest, from this week (counting for next week's chart): 7. I'm going to stick my neck out and say that when the official weekly chart is published, Hayley's Japanese album will easily beat her highest ever Japan Album chart position which is for Pure at no. 27 in the main chart and no. 11 in the International (Western Music) album chart. Watch this space (I'm getting excited now!)! Cheers, Dave

(I'm getting excited now!)! So am I Dave!! I wonder if Hayley realised the potential - she must have had some idea or she wouldn't have done it would she? It looks to me though, if what you say is true - and I wouldn't doubt that for a minute! - that records are going to be smashed here and it's just the degree we're not sure of. What time tomorrow do you think we will find out? Best wishes Grant
