Hello folks! Hayley's 'Treasure' has only climbed one place to No.2 in this week's Classic FM Chart, because the new double CD compilation 'Land of Hope & Glory' has gone straight in at No.1. 'Pure' has gone up four places to No.14. Mike Oldfield's 'Music of the Spheres' has dropped seven places to No.11, while Jonathan Ansell's 'Tenor at the Movies' is down nineteen places at No.30. All Angels' first album has dropped another six places to No.15, and 'Into Paradise' is also down six at No.23. Faryl Smith has dropped three places to No.29. Thanks Richard, it's good yet disappointing, because Hayley overtook last week's no. 1 but Decca annoyingly released that new compilation CD that's no. 1. Oh well, perhaps it being the Last Night of the Proms yesterday was the reason? I haven't got the new Classical Artist Chart but I do have the new UK Pop Album Chart now, no Hayley but it's quite interesting! 01 ( 02 ) Vera Lynn - We'll Meet Again 05 ( RE ) The Beatles - Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band 06 ( RE ) The Beatles - Abbey Road 09 ( RE ) The Beatles - Revolver 10 ( RE ) The Beatles - Rubber Soul 21 ( RE ) The Beatles - The Beatles 24 ( NE ) The Beatles - The Beatles In Stereo (£170 box set 17 discs) There are 17 Beatles albums in the top 100 but the best thing of all is... Dame Vera Lynn at the age of 92 has become the oldest living artist ever to top the charts - anywhere in the World, according to Decca's email on Friday. Congratulations to Dame Vera! Dave

WOW! Dame Vera has been around all my life. This is wonderful to see, and richly desrved. I don't suppose you will read this Dame Vera, but congratulations anyway!

Hello folks! I was listening to Classic FM this morning, and Simon Bates gave this clue for today's Identity Crisis: All together now... "Dame Vera Lynn!" Richard

Went into Tesco yesterday - there were still plenty of £2 copies of Treasure available.

Hello everybody! Hayley has three albums in this week's Classic FM Chart. 'Treasure' has slipped a place to No.3, 'Pure' is down eleven places at No.25, and 'River of Dreams' has re-entered at No.29. Mike Oldfield's 'Music of the Spheres' is down sixteen places at No.27, while Jonathan Ansell's 'Tenor at the Movies' has dropped out of the top thirty. All Angels' debut album is down four places at No.19. Their second album 'Into Paradise' has now dropped out of the chart, and so has Faryl Smith. Hayley's stablemate Nicola Benedetti has a new entry at No.2 with 'Fantasie', while the compilation 'Land of Hope & Glory' is still at No.1 for the second week. Complete chart: www.classicfm.co.uk/on-air/programmes/official-classic-fm-chart/weeks-top-30-19-september-2009/Congratulations to Bedlam Management, whose artists have taken the top two positions in this week's Classical Artists chart! Hello folks! Hayley's 'Treasure' has slipped another place to No.4 in this week's Classic FM Chart. 'River of Dreams' and 'Pure' have both dropped out of the top thirty together with Mike Oldfield's 'Music of the Spheres'. All Angels' first album has dropped another two places to No.21, Nicola Benedetti's 'Fantasie' is a non-mover at No.2, and 'Land of Hope & Glory' is still at No.1 for the third week running. www.classicfm.co.uk/on-air/weeks-top-30-26-september/Richard

Hayley's 'Treasure' has dropped eleven places to No.15 in this week's Classic FM Chart. All Angels' first album has climbed five places to No.16, while Nicola Benedetti's 'Fantasie' has dropped three places to No.5. Classic FM's new triple CD piano music compilation 'Relaxation' has gone straight into the chart at No.1. This week's chart has not been posted on Classic FM's website yet. Richard

There's nothing of any great interest in this week's Classic FM Chart. Hayley's 'Treasure' has dropped out of the top thirty, All Angels' first album has gone up three places to No.13, and Nicola Benedetti's 'Fantasie' is a non-mover at No.5. Classic FM's 'Relaxation' is snoring away at No.1 for the second week. The chart is back on Classic FM's website this week, but it's a very peculiar link: www.classicfm.co.uk/on-air/aaaaaa/Richard

Hello folks! There was nothing much to report in last week's Classic FM Chart, but this week's chart makes interesting reading following the performances of Hayley and Faryl Smith at the Festival of Remembrance on 7th November. 'River of Dreams' has re-entered the chart at No.23 while 'Faryl' is back at No.16. Katherine Jenkins is at No.1 for the second week running with her 'Ultimate Collection'. www.classicfm.co.uk/on-air/programmes/official-classic-fm-chart/weeks-top-30-21-november/Richard

Thanks Richard, I see The Fron Choir are back too and The Soldiers who also appeared at the FOR are doing even better, so everyone wins. I do like the new Classic FM Chart format, it was almost impossible to copy previously, it was a mess. But now, it's easy (getting rid of the ads is easy too i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif ) It will be interesting to see if Winter Magic qualifies for this chart in a couple of weeks' time. Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave,
I think the arithemetic suggests at least 9 songs on WM will have to be contrived to be classical. Veni Veni Emmanuel, Silent Night, Coventry Carol, Corpus Christi Carol, Maybe Carol of the Bells- after that I'm struggling. That's only 5, they would need to find 4 more...
Well, in contriving mode, Hayley is a called a classical artist, so anything she writes must be classical mustn't it? That's three of them. But somehow I don't think that will work.
