One thing which surprises me here is that given the population of Japan I would have guessed that more sales would be involved - not that this really mitigates the fact that all of this is good news indeed! Jon
Hi Jon, that's a good point and yes, it is surprising - I've done a longer reply over in the Worldwide Sales thread here.

Wow, the top ten! Wonderful! The album has the quality to go much higher of course, but you need people to appreciate that quality. I have a theory that music appeals to us on four levels
My guess is that "Physical" appeal sells more records than anything else. And that Hayley's music has little appeal in that department, you can't dance to much of it, or the intellectual one, but is strong both emotionally and spiritually. It is only a minority of record buyers who like that sort of music. So no matter how good Hayley is at what she does, she will never beat the disco artists.

Hello everyone,
Hayley has made it into the Japanese top 10 albums!
Hayley sings Japanese songs has climbed from 12 to 10 this week - the climb itself an unusual feat for a new album and a top 10 placing puts Hayley's Japanese popularity right up there with the UK. Tjhere were another 14,000 sales this week (generally a lower-sales week than last) making over 30,000 so far and counting!
So well done Hayley - what a tour you must be having!

Hello again folks!
Mike Oldfield's 'Music of the Spheres' has gone back up two places to No.6 in this week's Classic FM Chart.
The Cistercian Monks are non-movers at No.1 for the fourth consecutive week. I won't say they're there for the fourth week running because they should be kneeling!
