 Stats Counter
« Thread Started on Dec 25, 2008, 2:51pm »

Hi everyone,

In case anyone is mystified by the additional stats counter on the front page of the forum, it is merely an experiment for the next few days. The two counters were synchronized at 14:30 today (GMT) at 252324 visits. They will almost certainly get out of sync and we will endeavour to determine which is the more accurate before deciding which of the two will be retained.

Thanks,
Roger

Hi Roger,
I can only see the new one, as the old one is always blocked on my computer by Internet Explorer. This is as it stops HWI forum installing an ActiveX control, as it is from www.trafficfile.com which is an unknown publisher to them ???

Hope this makes sense to you,

Graham

Hi Graham,

Mmm, that sounds as though it is another point in favour of StatsCounter! I have always used IE and have always been able to view the old one. :o We won't worry too much for now because I will probably be keeping only the new counter. The final decision will be made in the next few days. Thanks anyway.

Hi all,

The StatCounter has returned. You will have noted that for a week, the counter numbers went missing, with only the text appearing. After removing its HTML code completely and re-placing it, the numbers have returned.

Many thanks,
Joe

Hi all,

Having said the above, there may be issues with different browsers not seeing the statcounter numbers.

If you cannot see the numbers, would you kindly reply and mention your type and version of internet browser?

Thank you,
Joe

The old Official forum (The Blue one) just had it's 20,000th member register in the last few minutes .

I expected most of the new names to be Oriental but ????????

I understand the people of China are quite restricted in what they are allowed to access on the internet,
I am beginning to think they are allowed to access the old forum because it is "Inactive" or just plain DEAD.

BUT... the PM system there still works ???

The "10 most recent posts" is frozen in time..
I feel a slight tinge of regret that none of the 10 were mine .

I have just realised I was probably away on holidays July 15th 2008

Weird, since 9:37 this morning there have been 192 new registrations (In less than 12 hours) on the closed forum , they're all getting on board the Marie Celeste ???

Wow !

The People are hungry for any information they can find about Hayley,

The Old Official Forum

has had over 1174 new registered members in the last four days !

Think about it !

If they all joined here and made only a couple of posts a day.

Would any of us be able to keep up ?
Could any of us afford the time to read it all ?

Hello Everyone,

Some of the more observant members may have seen that our forum will soon see its one millionth pageview.

Currently we are at 998,007. I estimate that we should hit 1,000,000 about noon BST on May 8.

Thanks everyone for your support. :)
