Hey guys, I interviewed Camilla a few hours ago. She is really, really, really lovely. When I asked her who she most wanted to perform/work with, do you know who she said? Hayley Westenra. She said she would love to do a full concert with Hayley - a folky/celtic type concert as Camilla liked Hayley's work with Celtic Woman.

Wow, just had a listen that is turning into countless listens! I've been playing that video on amazon over & over, and I have no intention of stopping it anytime soon. Her voice is gorgeous! She does remind me of Hayley, as well as Emma Shapplin, both compliments of the highest caliber! Thank you guys for introducing me to her, because it was on another thread here that I first saw her name & wondered who she was. I really need to come around here more often!

It's not up yet, but Camilla also told me she was doing a charity concert in London on the 11th December. Tickets are £20. It's at the St James Church. Sadly, I can't go. I am working that evening.

Just been listening to Camilla for the first time today having been introduced to her by this thread and I am really impressed. A beautiful voice and, my goodness, she can really hit and sustain those high notes. I hope her new album is a success and is high in the charts (just behind Hayley ). Martin

Hey Jeff, When I spoke to Camilla, she spoke about the best coloratura soprano she had ever heard, called Sumi Jo. I looked her up, and found something very convenient. It's the famous Queen of the Night, and it follows the notes as she sings them, so this video is a good thing to watch to understand the coloratura! Just in case you were interested! www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBLKtFwLxpQ

The hills are alive with the sound of music and I never heard Sumi... I have had a FUN version of this since the mid eighties by Kimera and I thought she was exceptional, even then on vinyl, But Sumi is probably able to shatter glass...... just like the Memorex advertisment.

Nic, thanks for all that you are doing. This album ticks every box in my book and I'll offer my own thoughts later on Monday (remember she's on Titchmarsh at 3pm) and I think I'll be running out of superlatives !

Hi Nicola,
Thanks for the Sumi Jo link. she is fantastic. Great interview with Camilla. I just hope she doesn't push too much sex. Her voice should be enough, and pushing sex will turn me off, since I want her to be about music.

Hi Martin, look out I am just behind you i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifAlso just read through this thread and found some songs on Youtube .......... WOW ....... there have been many other singers mentioned on this site but Camilla is the only one to get anywhere near to Hayley in my view. She of course has a long way to go but she has the voice. Best Wishes, Graham

I'm glad you like Camilla. I think she is sold on me!
She can reach an amazing B6. It never occurred to me to ask Hayley. How high can she go?
