Although I pre-ordered Sing and it was dispatched on Monday, Royal Mail seem to have decided that I don't need it for the Jubilee weekend. :(

Still, it's something to look forward to next week. :)

Hi everyone,

Sing is no. 1!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chart/albums

Well done to Gary Barlow and the Commonwealth band - and to Hayley, Laura Wright and Alfie Boe who also contributed important parts to the album! :D

This is the first time ever, I think (correct me if I'm wrong) that Hayley has featured as one of the lead singers on an official no. 1 album or single outside New Zealand!

Well done Hayley! :D

Cheers, Dave

Well done, Hayley!

The sheet music to 'Sing' is available free from Andrew Lloyd-Weber's website, if you register with his site.

Sir Andrew said this was "To further encourage the nation to learn the song and join in the Jubilee celebrations."

There was a story on CNN International channel about the Jubillee song. Lord Weber, during an interview, played a bit of the first verse on his piano.

So during tonight's concert, "sing it louder, sing it clearer, knowing every one will hear you."

From Hayley's Facebook:

Hey guys,

Just found out the Sing EP has hit No.1!!! Wowee. Was so honoured to be invited by music master Gary Barlow to record a new version of Amazing Grace for this special Jubilee album.... Thanks so much to those of you who bought it!

Wishing all my Commonwealth buddies a joyous Jubilee Weekend (somewhat belatedly for those back home!) and the rest of you, a beautiful week ahead :)

Congratulations to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth on her Diamond Jubilee!

Lots of love, Hayley xxx

Thanks Jillian for posting Hayley's Facebook response and picture, I wonder if that was her own place, as discussed elsewhere? Definitely maybe, as a certain pop group of years gone by might have said!

I watched the official TV programme "The Making of Sing" yesterday evening on BBC TV and I have to say, it captivated me from start to finish. I hadn't realised just how much time and effort went into the making of it, and how many people from Africa, the West Indies, Australia, the Pacific Islands and the UK took part in it - there seemed to be hundreds! :o

For anyone who hasn't seen the one hour programme, I can thoroughly recommend it, and you can find it here at BBC iPlayer:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01....jestys_Service/

...but I am not sure if it can ve viewed from outside the UK?

Cheers, Dave

I just bought a copy today- this is easily the best recording of Hayley singing 'Amazing Grace' ever and there are so many good ones! I'm glad I got it now, also love 'sing'

Great to see another album with Hayley doing well in the charts. :)

I wonder if it was ALW who chose Hayley for the album. It wouldn't be surprising. :)

I think a few more people have discovered Hayley too, because of her appearance on "Sing".

Here is Hayley, tucked in with only Andrea Bocelli/Sarah Brightman for company, with the rest of the top 20 Classical on iTunes being Patriotic British songs today!

I've never seen a chart like it! :o :D

Just a reminder that today is the release day in the USA for the Sing EP.

http://www.amazon.com/Sing-Gary-Barlow-C....38925531&sr=8-1

The list price at Amazon.com is $14.68.

Also the EP is on iTunes US today; each mp3 of the seven tracks are $1.29 each. Better deal is to buy the album for $5.99.

I received an email today that my copy has been shipped! It's out on Australian Itunes now, but I was keen to get a hard copy as a momento too! :)

Cheers,
Jillian

For those of you that have the physical album, is there any sort of insert with photos etc. I'm thinking that it's just a cardboard sleeve.

Hi Joe,

There is a little 8 page booklet with the lyrics of "Sing", and the credits for all of the tracks.
A few small pictures of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Gary Barlow are included too.
