Hi Martin and Tin, The Wikipedia Hayley page is basically edited by one fan (in North America, I think) who seems to have made it his own and the information there leaves a lot to be desired (as with many Wiki articles). But it's a handy starting page for people who know nothing about Hayley. Tha fan is to be commended for his efforts but it doesn't take long to outgrow it. I'm sure Hayley hasn't yet been to Afghanistan. Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave, To be honest, I actually hope that we were wrong and that the writer was right to have used 'was'. But the home truth is, we are still gonna have those sleepless nights and get anxious, until September when Hayley has really gone and come back Tin

I don't suppose we will know when she is actually there. We will find out when she comes back, although, thinking about it, we did know beforehand about Katherine's visit the Christmas before last I think it was.

Hello everybody! I'm sure there'll be plenty of coverage in the press after Hayley has returned safely from Afghanistan. Richard

Hi Martin, I am sure Hayley will be kept safely away from any possible dangers whilst she is there , I hope there is some good media coverage of the event, although you are right when you say we will not probably get any advance notice of when it will all happen. Steve H

I'm sure there are several here who would be praying for her if they knew when she was going. I have to say there was a rather grisly item about Afghanistan on last night's News at Ten, on the occasion of the 100th British casualty. Basically they were saying to nobody is safe there. That does not do much to allay my fears for Hayley, even though I'm sure she will be given the best protection possible.

I have the outmost respect for Hayley's decision. I do not have the outmost respect for comments similar to "That's no place for a 21-year old woman". If this site was dedicated to a male artist I doubt the discussion would look much like this one, if existing at all. Hope the troops will get some lovely evenings and that we'll have Hayley back in one piece!

Hello Hanabi,
First of all welcome to HWI!!!
And what you have said "....and that we'll have Hayley back in one piece!'
I know what you mean & we all have our concerns about the safety for our Hayley. But one can just walk across the street where you live and get killed. It is out of our hands.
I just pray for the best for Hayley, her family, and fans.
Best Regards, Howard

Yes, you are absolutely right of course. Hayley is a grown woman now, and she makes her own decisions. She has bravely decided to go, and deserves our full support. But I will still be praying for her safe return.

Hello everybody.
We don't know the reason, but it seems Hayley's planned visit to Afghanistan has been called off. I'm sure she will be bitterly disappointed, but perhaps it was just too risky for her.

Hi Richard,
Is there any confirmation of the cancellation? We surely hope to know more about the ongoings of this matter.

If in fact it was too dangerous, then it's probably for the better. I know there is some ongoing fighting right now, and putting her too close to that would be unwise.

I had been quietly wondering if that might happen, considering the escalation in hostilities we seem to be seeing. It seems that it has become more dangerous recently, and if this is correct, I'm sure we will all breather a sigh of relief!
