Hi Natasha, it appears to be another one of the promo CDs that Lothar purchased recently. Description:

"HAYLEY WESTENRA 4 TRACK PROMO SAMPLER "ODYSSEY" UNPLAYED 2005 IN PAPER COVER WITH POLY ENVELOPE SEE PHOTO
WHAT YOU NEVER KNOW (WONT HURT YOU)
AVE MARIA
DELL AMORE NON SI SA
NEVER SAW BLUE"

However... I do know that What You Never Know has been (is being) considered as a possible single release. It wouldn't surprise me if Never Saw Blue is also being considered. If I was Decca, I'd release one of them in the UK the week before the Odyssey release date, and the other a few weeks before Christmas but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

One of them could be a single in the US in October, I'd have thought. But I think they'll only do it if they think they can get some airplay out of it .

Cheers, Dave

;D From listening to Odyssey as many times as i have i think Never Saw Blue and My Heart Belongs To You should be singles.
If not i think these are the ones who are going to be played the most on NZ Radio stations

Hello everybody! [image]

Promo singles are sent out to radio stations, which is why "Never Saw Blue" is being played on the radio in New Zealand and Australia. They certainly make interesting collectors' items. I hope Decca will send copies to all the radio stations in the UK, the USA and all the other countries where "Odyssey" is released. :D

Bye for now,

Richard 8-)

Its too popular in the US, though. It was originally sung by Shawn Colvin on the Princess Bride soundtrack.

I think this could be released as a single in most countries, especially with the style of music it is. Before Hayley's singles only got released in Japan but they were mostly classical apart from 'Wuthering Heights'.

They should try a single release first in NZ to test it out. I wonder why they never released any of the previous singles Hayley had in NZ, I would guess they would do great in the charts.

I don't think it will be to long before Never Saw Blue is released in NZ.
as i have said a couple of posts up ,that on the radio they advertised Odyssey as featuring Both Sides Now and the single Never Saw Blue, so i went to the Cd store to see if they had it already .i asked at the counter was that all the singles they had as there was a display near the counter and they said yes so i said have you a Hayley Westenra single and the guy said Hayley Westenra won't have a single,i said oh yes she is Never Saw Blue.So i hope hes wrong .

Haha, then limewire must have labelled my song wrong. I downloaded the Shawn Colvin version for a listen and it clearly stated Princess Bride.

So far, I've only heard the sample of that song, but even from that I can tell that it's going to be one of my favourite tracks on the album. A single would be successful because no matter what your musical tastes are, you can't not like "Never Saw Blue."

Time to play the sample again. ;D
