Hi all, I just can`t see this as being tunes with lyrics of Morricone music. I can only think of Nella Fantasia as being one of his popular tunes when lyrics were added. Putting words to Chi Mai may not work.Lets hope the album is good and not bad or ugly otherwise it could be commercial suicide.
Stephen.

Stephen, There is no way that the Maestro Ennio Morricone will approve this album unless and until it is up to his high standards of the last 50 years. Hayley's been around for long enough now for him to know even before they started that Hayley is right for this, and I'm sure that the contract with Decca will ensure the right amount of promotion for it. A lot. It's something to eagerly anticipate not worry about, and I for one can't wait for it. Dave

Apparently for a long time Ennio didn't allow anyone for lyrics to be added to Gabriel's Oboe.
Well, in an interview, I remember reading that Hayley had been watching Clint Eastwood movies, so I wonder if at least one song from one of those movies could be on it. Or maybe that was just to better familiarize herself with his works.

This post has been moved from the 'Reach For The Skies' album thread by Richard. Hi all, Hopefully, Hayley is saving We`ll Meet Again and a nightingale sang in berkeley square for an album of her own.Come to think of it apart from Nella Fantasia how many other Ennio Morricone peices of music with lyrics do you know that would be suitable for Hayley?.
Stephen. Ones that he wrote for her? She has said he did. She said he's the producer of his album, and she recorded it with him in Rome.

Hi all, There is a difference between producing an album and totally writing it.Are all the tunes Morricone tunes or is he providing some of the tunes then producing and providing the orchestra?.At the end of the day we all hope the album makes a fistful of dollars and just not a few dollars more.
Stephen.

Hi Libby, I can't think of any "song" Ennio has written, I have several of his albums and have been following his music since about 1968, unless you consider "Hang em, Hang em high" to be a complete set of lyrics He is more renowned as a composer of music, he will use vocals or vocalizing as instruments more-so than as a way of conveying intelligible lyrics like a ballad or a song. If you are expecting songs you may well be disappointed ! But I could be wrong, maybe Hayley has contributed lyrics to Ennio's music at his request, which indeed would be an honour. Maybe the album is a soundtrack to a movie which might explain it's delay.. Let's hope it's a blockbuster, Hayley deserves a completely International breakthrough. You understand, this is all speculation on my part, I have no inside information, Just guessing By the way, his previously favoured singer Edda Dell'Orso recorded dozens of movie soundtracks with Morricone so this may be start of something very big for Hayley i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hi Comet, Pleased to see someone has taken my point.Apart from Nella Fantasia I cannot think of any other of his works put with lyrics.
Stephen
P.S. Very worried by the suggestion on the Decca website that the album only consists of works by Morricone albeit that I do have one of his albums.

Chi Mai has been converted to a song by Katherine Jenkins, into 'House of No Regrets'. 'La Califfa' is also a Morricone song, and so is, obviously, 'My Heart and I'.
You probably got that from me. XD It's my favourite story to tell that Sarah Brightman sent him a letter once a year, for several years, begging him to let her change 'Gabriel's Oboe' into a song. He eventually said yes, so she wrote the lyrics in English, and had them translated into Italian.

...P.S. Very worried by the suggestion on the Decca website that the album only consists of works by Morricone albeit that I do have one of his albums. Hi Stephen, I'm not sure what you mean by that, could you perhaps provide a link so we can read exactly what the Decca website says? Don't forget ..Ennio Moricone usually releases his material on EMI. Has it been said this album is to be a DECCA album, I am not being sarcastic, I simply don't know what label it is to be on . Hi Paul, I was told by an impeccable source earlier this year that this will be "a Hayley album", and Hayley herself referred to it as "my new album" only three days ago on Twitter. So I think it's safe to say that it is. We can therefore infer that to meet the UK chart rules, Hayley will participate in every track on the album. It must also be released by Hayley's record company (unless they agree otherwise, which is unlikely) so unless she moves to another label before the album is released, it will be a Decca release. Cheers, Dave
