Hi Ross,

Thanks for the great scan, I know that Hayley has not always had the greatest of reviews from home, this one is very complementary and I am sure her family will be pleased with it. An artists home town is often the hardest place to get the acclaim they deserve.

Well done Hayley!

Thanks Ross for finding and posting this glowing review. If Patrick Shepherd is usually pretty tough, one has to assume he has been Hayleywowed!

Hayley's so tolerant, it could be a chimpanzee at London Zoo cuddling her, but see signature

Ross' post 28 the Shepherd scan. When he gives her five stars I hope we're still in touch with her. To us, I reckon she's been a 5star kid since she started.

Nonetheless, for what ever reason he gave her only 4 stars--perhaps he just has double perfection as his standard?--it was a five star report.

Delighted for everyone.

I'm suprised they're putting money behind her promotion. I had the impression that in NZ 'Hayley Westenra' simply sold but she has been away from home for awhile (for serious performing) and obviously they don't want to risk sitting on her laurels. Also, were she not to hit in NZ No1 and straight into gold in the first week, it could have a negative effect worldwide. Perhaps that's why they're being careful?

Her eyes were the blue of cornflowers that dance amongst ripening wheat,
Her hair the colour of golden sands bleached by summer's heat.

Many thanks for sharing, Ross. Sounds like the reviewer is a fan of Hayley. It's great to see that he noticed Hayley's hard work - she's getting better and better (if that's possible) with diction and tone. Her maturity is impressive and I can imagine how smashing her next album will be.

Hi Stephany,
You are right indeed. Patrick is now a definite Hayley fan!!! I love his prediction for Hayley's future career. Of course we not only agree with him, we knew this all along, didn't we ?!!!!!
I am so pleased for Hayley to have such positive feedback from the press.
One post to go, Stephany !!!
Love, Marianne :-* :-*

Hi Dori,

Hayley has 20 platinum discs and one Gold disc (Treasure) so far in NZ and it's 15,000 sales per platinum and 7,500 for a Gold.

That makes just over 300,000 albums Hayley has sold in NZ and that is a staggering total for a 19 year old... or an any-year-old... in a Country with a 4 million population. :o :D

For Treasure alone, the total will be somewhere between 7,500 and 15,000 sales to date.

Cheers, Dave

That's quite a ratio, Dave. Just to put that in perspective, if she had that ratio in the United States it would translate to 22.5 million albums sold!
