Hi Martin,

I agree with you; however that is the price that artists have to pay when they are popular. I don't know how bad it is over there but here in the U S the tabloids actually fabricate things that aren't true.

HI Graemek,

You mean the third estate doesn't always tell the truth. I'm shocked.

Hi Paul,

This is the first I have heard of it. I see no mention of Hayley's appearance on Rhydian's website and the forum is only viewable to members.

Where did you hear this news?

Hi Roger/Paul
This certainly appears to be true as someone has posted to this affect on the Forum on HayleyWestenra.com.

Thanks Martin. I have asked Bedlam for any further information and particularly if there will be any other surprise appearances.

Hi,

Yes, there is an account of it on Rydian's forum here as well as a few pictures. Hayley wore her red poppy dress.

http://www.rhydianroberts.com/forum/viewthread/12161/

Apparently he and Hayley sang a duet of 'All I Ask of You" and I think that she sang Pokarekare Ana.

I'm probably opening a can of worms by linking to the 'other' contents of that thread, but anyway...

Hi,

I'm a Rhydian fan who was alerted to this board by a post from Comet above on the Rhydian official forum. I wasn't personally there in Birmingham and from all acounts security were incredibly unyielding in their disapproval of people filming any part of the show but the redoubtable dianaben somehow managed to capture what will henceforth be termed THE DUET (tm). Due to the circumstances it was filmed under the visuals are in no way up to dianaben's usual impeccable standards but the audio is surprisingly good.

Just as an aside, I've taken the liberty of reading this thread in its entirety and don't feel I can resist passing comment on the (admittedly thankfully isolated) rather hurtful comments regarding Rhydian's looks. Whilst everybody is of course entitled to their opinion and, as is often expressed, beauty really is in the eye of the beholder, I do believe that making such remarks in public belies the poster's rather shallow, not to say juvenile, view of physical attraction.

I'll say no more (as this will be my first and last post), apart from Hayley has an extraordinary voice and they sound wonderful together.

Firstly, welcome to HWI!! THank you for posting that lovely video. It seems like the two of them gave quite a performance doesn't it?! :D

I'm sorry that some of the comments were hurtful regarding Rhydian, we all occasionally give opinions that aren't lovely but don't let that keep you away! :)

all the very best wishes and thanks...
Natasha ;)

I hope you were not offended by my reference to Rhydian looking like one of the band members of Kraftwerk, If It was my comment, I apologise. it was not intended to be insulting or hurtful, Kraftwerk were notorious for staying quite still during their performances and I did only comment on the one 3 to 4 minute performance shown on Irish TV in which Rhydian stayed almost motionless throughout the performance, which I don't see as a bad thing as it allows the singer to channel all his energy into the singing.

Hi specialedition,

Thanks for posting that video -- I do hope that this that isn't your last post here. :) I think everyone on here can appreciate how hard it can be to evade the camera police at times, so dianaben did a wonderful job to get the footage that she did. :)

That video is worth watching just so you can listen to some of Rhydian's female fans starting to hysterically giggle at the end! [image] An excellent performance from both of them and I'm sure that this is definitely one occasion where no one can accuse Hayley of lacking in emotion. :)

Thanks special edition,
I wasn't aware of this performance of Hayley & Rhydian.

Nor was I aware of any particular negative criticism of Rydian.

I have a copy of him singing Music of the Night at Andrew Lloyd W.'s 60th birthday & he was most impressive !!!

Graeme :)
