Hayley also replied to Jillian, who asked what her dream pet would be:

@JillianC88 Well we have a rabbit and a parrot at home....they are quite the dream team.
I wonder if the parrot is still Zack the cockatiel, or if it's a new one? I asked her, but we'll see if she responds. Also, I'm a little concerned about the number of rabbits. The last we heard, in an article a few years ago, they had 2. What happened to the other? The one she posted a pic of on twitter recently, named Mollie, I think was part of that pair we read about (it was a scanned article, so it was hard to read). I hope they're getting proper care. Bunnies live much longer than most people think, but so many people don't know how to care for them properly, and they have very short lives. Rabbits are very fragile, especially when it comes to diet. That's where most people make a mistake. They don't eat carrots all day like Bugs Bunny. That would make them sick. They are very prone to tummy troubles if their diet isn't just right, and even then, they often suffer from gas/stasis (sort of like hairball in a cat, except they don't puke). Rabbits need lots and lots of hay, with some greens, and maybe some bunny pellets. Things like carrots should be rare treats, and very small pieces. The only time I ever give my bunny carrot is for holidays, from the baby carrot supply, and then only the very tip of one, or something. It's also extremely cruel to leave a bunny in cage all day; what's the point in a pet who's confined all the time? Also, it's much healthier and safer for them to live indoors, plus they're extremely easy to litter train! In case anyone is wondering, the oldest bunny my family had lived to be 11! That was my sister's bunny, Honeybun. Libby was 9 (yes, that's where I get my forum name from, for those who don't know!)
I'm hoping since Jill Westenra seems to be very health concious and such, that she's smart enough to do that kind of research. But, who's taking care of Mollie? I still can't help but wonder about that other bunny. Hayley and Sophie have been known to let bunnies wander, too... (In Her Own Voice).
Sorry, I can't help but worry about people's pet bunnies, because they're so often mistreated, dumped, and cared for incorrectly, it's hard not to worry. So, if anyone out there is even considering getting a bunny, please do your research first. If you don't care enough to do that, you shouldn't get one.
