Hi Martin D and everyone, No. 10 Downing Street, that sounds quite exciting! But why? I have posed the question on our website (with the photo) and Facebook page... Dave

Hi Dave and everyone
Hayley's umberella should give you a clue - and several tweets from @poppylegion. To celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Royal British Legion, "Poppy Parties" are being held all over the country and one was hosted by the PM this afternoon at No. 10 Downing Street.
Oh! and I responded to Hayley's tweet thus .....
Don't know what Hayley was doing at The Senate yesterday though.
Best wishes Grant

Thank you Grant, I knew I could rely on you (or someone) to work it all out! I shall answer my own question on the website later this evening.. But that doesn't tell me what The Senate is! Not if it's in the UK, anyway! Cheers, Dave

Don't take yesterday to literally and doesn't the Senate sit in the Capitol in Washington DC. So maybe Hayley is refering to Memorial Day as yesterday.

Is she kidding about the Kremlin, then? I can't imagine what that has to do with the RBL, but what do I know? BTW, Isaac received a birthday wish from Michelle Baugh!

Yes,,I'm sure she was.
She might get to Government House, in the Sydney Botanic Gardens (not far from the Opera House) in the near future.
But the Kremlin one day - you kever know!

How would that be a metaphor, exactly?

How would that be a metaphor, exactly? Hi Libby, I gather you are directing your question to me A metaphor is a figure of speech in which a word is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable or out of reach. For example, NASA may have said in the 1960's "Today we sent a man to the Moon, tomorrow we will send a man to Mars." NASA may eventually do this many years after making that statement. So when Hayley mentioned "...today 10 Downing Street, tomorrow the Kremlin", Hayley may perform at the Kremlin at some point in the future. Certainly it is possible. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif ~ Joe
