Hi Kiwifan, Thanks for the information. Reading the publicity for this event, it looks like a very interesting evening and a worthwhile cause. Tickets are just under £50. Welcome to the forum, by the way! Stuart

Hi All, Here is the seating plan www.cadoganhall.com/seatingplan.html The seats are going quick now its out, , but I still managed to get 'AA 8 and 9' slap bang in the middle of the front row! Tuesday 6 June, 2006 19.15
Hayley Westenra and friends In aid of Global Angels
Hayley Westenra Daniel Bedingfield Tenors Un Limited Juliette Pochin
Programme: A contemporary classical concert with a difference – expect the unexpected!
A red carpet charity event in aid of Global Angels’ ‘Feed a child for a year’ campaign.
Hayley’s new release ‘Odyssey’ follows her first album ‘Pure’ made when she was 15. ‘Pure’, which has sold 2 million copies to date, topped the UK classical charts and went Top Ten in the pop equivalent.
In her homeland, it is the biggest-selling New Zealand album of all time. A magical night to emember. From designer attired ‘angels’ to a charity auction, celebrity charity ambassadors and the STEP UP campaign because …everyone can be an Angel. I will get a bit more excited when I see it announced on the Decca site. Hope to some of you there, here is the direct link to the Cadogan Hall site for booking. www.cadoganhall.com/showpage.php?pid=176Cheers for now Steve H

Woow! That concert looks fantastic! Too bad I'm a hop, skip and a leap over the pond and can't make it. I'd love to go though. Maybe another day. <3 Caite

Hayley Westenra and friends? Since when did she turn into Pavarotti? That's easy. I can do it in four steps: Hayley Westenra ....... Lucy Westenra ...... Lucy ......... Luciano Pavarotti.Or you can go the scenic route: Hayley Westenra ....... Hayley Mills ....... General Mills ......... Lucky Charms cereal ......... Lucky Luciano ....... Luciano Pavarotti.

Thank you for the tip off Richard. Page printing now and I must return to my now very soggy cornflakes before making the necessary telephone call. Three cheers for Hayley, bless her. Peter

Thanks Steve H for the tip on the seating plan. I had not discovered those links when i printed out the page with the telephone number as there seemed only an offline booking option I suppose I did not look properly.
I had the choice of the 2nd row but on the basis of advice at the booking office where the lady had personal experience of the seating i went for the middle of D, eight rows back.[There's an AA,BB etc sequence if that throws anyone who is thinking as they read].
So, how many of us are going to be there to look out for during the interval or perhaps afterwards, although its the wrong side of London for me so i will be panicking for late trains in the North? What dawns on me is how so many of us for whom London is easy missed out on Friday Night is Music Night? How on earth did none of us make that?
Peter

Hello Peter and everybody! Oh my gosh, I'm also in the middle of the same row, seat D15! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifCadogan Hall is clearly visible from Sloane Square Underground Station on the Circle and District Lines, one stop from Victoria. Walk out of the station and turn right, across the pedestrian crossing and 150 yards up Sedding Street. I've added this concert to the master schedule. I've shown it as unconfirmed for the moment, but the tickets went on sale yesterday and they're going fast, like I am this morning! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif34 days to go! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifSee you there, Richard

Hi Richard, I think we may be sitting next to each other!! I made a note on a slip of scrap paper which I now discover I may have just shredded. I'm almost certain it was D16
I have just booked my hotel for Huddersfield and there is a distinctive jaunt in my step! Must be the Hayley factor, or possibly that I am beginning to plan my Wales holiday. But then, as that means Hayley at both ends... (with the mountains of Wales in between) perhaps it is just the Hayley factor after all.
Now that reminds me, I haven't heard that song for a long time and it might be appropriate for Hayley. I also wonder whether Hayley's inspiration for her own creativity comes to her from everyday interaction.
I was about to quote his name but suddenly it disappeared. 'Friday Night is Music Night' did a special tribute to him many years ago which is why I know. He is one of our great pauper songwriters.
He was in a café and he asked the waitress for directions and she gave them to him matter-of-factly, ending her directions with the line he immortalised, ''Where the mountains of Mourne come down to the sea'. Peter

Hello again Peter! A quick search on Google reveals "The Mountains Of Mourne" was written by William Percy French. To get back on topic, I'll see you at Cadogan Hall on 6th June! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard
